Under Attack, Marco Rubio Malfunctions — And Repeats The Same Line Four Times

In a strange, intense moment during Saturday's debate, Rubio kept repeating the same line. And Chris Christie called him out for it. "There it is!"

In a high-profile stumble three days out from the New Hampshire primary, a rattled-looking Marco Rubio retreated from an aggressive grilling during Saturday's debate in a strange way: by reciting the same line at least four times.

Rubio, who entered the debate with momentum following a strong third-place showing in Iowa, was asked by a moderator to identify the accomplishments in his record that have prepared him for the presidency.

Your incisive analysis is once again spot on.
Thank you for contributing a well-reasoned, meaningful contribution to this forum, which seems to have been overrun by willing cultists guided by the mesmerizing tunes of a modern day amalgam of the Pied Piper and PT Barnum.

Maybe in 4 years they will roll out Rubio 2.0.

For now, he’s too glitchy for prime time.

“Let’s dispel once and for all “

Rubio is a gasbag robot who’s playback arm suffered a serious malfunction tonight. There must have been a scratch on his record!
What he says are just words without any suibstance. It’s when he goes on Univision and speaks in his “native tongue” that the truth comes out. He’s still all in for amnesty for his “brothers and sisters.” This Cabana Boy should go back to the 60’s when they sold used cars live on TV. He’d be a natural.

Like I have said: Rubio is a programmed wind up toy that has only so many lines and then goes blah, blah, wak, wak, wak, duh, duh, duh, duh. The man is spooky.

Rubio is a lying imbecile and that is bad because that makes him psychopathic.

It wasn't this bad for Marco but using the same line 4 times in short order and then Tubby beating him over the head with it was pretty close.....his little bump is now a full and utter fail

Rubio came across poorly in that exchange but his point was spot on. It may even work out to his advantage in the long term. He will be given plenty of opportunities to talk about this and make his point in the coming days. It seems that Christy believes that if only Obama had more executive experience he would be a great president.

Its like the New York values exchange where initially it seemed like Trump got the best of Cruz but over the days following there was so much media attention that Cruz was able to hammer Trump on his liberal record.

Rubio is eloquent when not cornered. He should focus on his Senatorial position and prove to be the seasoned statesman he envisions.

Your grinding criticism of Trump’s ego is losing piquancy.

You do notice they all think they are our betters righteously and intellectually

I think of it as snobs for Cruz

It does Cruz no favors ..

It’s better to attack Trump for his ideas and actions rather than his personality and the character or acumen of his supporters but that takes more effort

And I like Cruz....but I see his failing

Trump is not on any pedestal ....he just has the megaphone

Like Bush on the rubble

Your grinding criticism of Trump's ego is losing piquancy.

I think you're right about the former posts having a certain piquancy, I think you are probably referring to this one among others:

"Trumps bankruptcies alone do make him 'unqualified' for the presidency.

The genius who believes he has mastered the art of the deal was told by many people before his bizarre investment in the Taj Mahal that the numbers simply could not work. Trump's megalomania and narcissism is so extreme that he simply would not listen to reason. He was the subject of an analyst's report which predicted bankruptcy for the Taj Mahal. Typically, Trump sued the analyst, caused him to be fired from his position, and then witnessed the Taj Mahal go bankrupt within months.

Donald Trump is not unqualified just for his bankruptcies and appalling business judgment alone but for his cruelty. His treatment of his tenants to evict them from his properties to in order to convert those properties was clearly cruel, and unlawful.

Donald Trump is not unqualified just for his bankruptcies or for his cruelty but for his associations with mafioso, convicted criminals, corrupt union officials, corrupt politicians, and even Democrats who have not yet been proved to be corrupt.

Donald Trump is not unqualified just for his bankruptcies or for his cruelty or for his associations alone but for his deceits. His outright misrepresentations concerning the quality of his buildings to prospective purchasers who have been misled and cheated with shoddy quality are notorious.

Donald Trump is not unqualified for his bankruptcies or his cruelty or his associations or his deceits alone but for his bullying of vulnerable people such as those he sought to deprive of their property by exploiting condemnation laws.

Donald Trump is not unqualified for his bankruptcies or his cruelty, or his associations, or his deceits, or his bullying alone, but for his boorishness, his grotesqueries, his endless puerile sexual innuendos.

Donald Trump is not unqualified for his bankruptcies or his cruelty, or his associations, or his deceits, or his bullying or his boorishness alone but for his sleaze. His participation in wrestling (yes wrestling!), Prize fighting, gambling, reality television, beauty pageants, and God knows what else.

Donald Trump is not unqualified for his bankruptcies or his cruelty, or his associations, or his deceits, or his bullying or his boorishness or his sleaze but for his exploitation of the vulnerable. Trump University was bunko from beginning to end and it cruelly exploited the very people it pretended to help. Profiteering of the vulnerable by a billionaire is beyond shameful.

Donald Trump as a human being is thoroughly unqualified for any position of power where ego, narcissism or greed might take the place of decency".

His participation in wrestling (yes wrestling!), Prize fighting, gambling, reality television, beauty pageants, and God knows what else.

There's nothing whatsoever wrong with any of the above activities, in most reasonable Americans' minds.

They are all legal and highly successful forms of entertainment in modern American culture. The fact that none of them are your cup of tea doesn't make them sleazy, by any stretch of the imagination.

The fact that you would denigrate each of these activities, and then go on to cite them as some sort of disqualifying criteria regarding Donald Trump's Presidential bid, makes it seem like you are grasping at straws.

The same is true for many of your other stated reasons above.

When combined with your gratuitous sarcasm, I can't help but think that you're driving many undecided voters into the Trump camp.

Donald Trump simply isn't the diabolical entity against whom you so rabidly protest.

The flippant psychological diagnoses by which you attempt to insult Donald Trump really serve only to expose your own abject hysteria regarding the man.

I must confess that I find your ongoing tirades less and less compelling. Your dismissive demeanor completely misses the national phenomenon which is occurring, IMHO.

I believe that Donald Trump's heart is in the right place, as I do Ted Cruz's.

And there's no question that Trump has led the charge on some of the most important issues of this election cycle.

Trump's certainly not perfect, but I think he OR Ted Cruz would make a fine President.

Eventually, you will climb aboard the Trump Hype Train.

Meanwhile, keep yourself busy tilting at windmills...

“Cruz has the best plan and is the only one I trust to pick SCOTUS appointees

You do know he picked Roberts,”

No Jeb’s brother picked Roberts. Cruz wasn’t even in the Senate, but Cruz acknowledges he supported Roberts but I’m guessing a lot a people did. Hindsight on that one is perfect vision but only in hindsight.

Also not unbiased, but I agree that Rubio hurt himself; Cruz held his own, at best, but was dinged by Carson (on ethics) and didn’t debate as well as his reputation; Trump status quo; Christie did very good; Kasich did okay, stayed true to his form touting Ohio and budget successes; Jeb and Carson status quo, not harmed, not helped.
