Under Attack, Marco Rubio Malfunctions — And Repeats The Same Line Four Times

In a strange, intense moment during Saturday's debate, Rubio kept repeating the same line. And Chris Christie called him out for it. "There it is!"

In a high-profile stumble three days out from the New Hampshire primary, a rattled-looking Marco Rubio retreated from an aggressive grilling during Saturday's debate in a strange way: by reciting the same line at least four times.

Rubio, who entered the debate with momentum following a strong third-place showing in Iowa, was asked by a moderator to identify the accomplishments in his record that have prepared him for the presidency.

Marco Rubio's remarks should be judged on substance as well as on form.

For the record I am unalterably opposed to the candidacy of Marco Rubio because he betrayed the nation on immigration, all as so thoroughly and damningly documented by Phyllis Schlafly. I am equally opposed to Donald Trump because he is an opportunistic bounder who has no allegiance whatsoever to conservatism but only to his own ego.

But on substance Rubio is quite correct, the problem with Barack Obama is not competence or the lack of it as Donald Trump alleges but ideology. A candidate like Donald Trump who is willing to attack Barack Obama only on the issue of competence does so for selfish reasons, he does not want people looking at Donald Trump's ideology. The very idea that our negotiators are too stupid to know what they are doing when they negotiate treaties with Iran or in the Pacific Rim is simply preposterous. These are highly intelligent people who do what they do because they believe they are right and we conservatives are wrong.

Rubio's point is important because this state of affairs cannot be cured by appointing "smart people" to negotiate or by cutting "deals" with the establishment in Washington, the problem must be solved by the recognition and implementation of conservative ideology, an argument I have been advancing on these threads for months.

Donald Trump does not take this line because he does not believe this line. Trump wants to become president so he can do what Trump wants to do. Trump is a man without ideology and that is nearly as bad as the wrong ideology. Rubio is a man who knows what the correct ideology is, but he is a sellout.

That leaves Ted Cruz as the viable choice.

Sounds like eRubio suffered a kernel error. May require a hard reboot to correct.

Cruz has the best plan and is the only one I trust to pick SCOTUS appointees. I just think he is the least likely major candidate to beat the Democrats (other than Trump who is disaster waiting to happen)

So what you’re saying is that Obama setting it up where the nation his daughters will live in, will have stoning for rape victims, sharia law, the girls being mutilated so they can’t enjoy sex, have to wear a veil outdoors, can be beaten by their owners, is all a master plan he’s pushing by design?

I N C O M P E T E N C E !

"...Sounds like eRubio suffered a kernel error. May require a hard reboot to correct."

you are totally wrong about that Mr. Flick.

Let's dispel once and for all with this fiction that Barack Obama doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing. Barack Obama is undertaking a systematic effort to change this country, to make America more like the rest of the world. When I'm president of the United States, we are going to re-embrace all the things that made America the greatest nation in the world, and we are going to leave our children with what they deserve, the single greatest nation in the history of the world.

Your brilliant assessment will be met with pictures of the Donald with the Blues Brothers or Ted Cruz with a black eye.

:)

But I appreciate it. Thank you.

Head-to-head polls say Rubio or Cruz beat Hillary. Only one showed Trump beating her and by one point.

Which is why you continually fail in your posts of late. Trump is the only real conservative in this race in both platform and deed. You are blinded by an unjustified hate or just a lack of recondition of what a true patriot looks like. You jumped on cruz's failing campaign even before he started parroting Trumps positions on everything from immigration to the military. When if you were sincere in you so stated beliefs, you would have have supported Trump from the second cruz declared support for obumbers TPP at any cost.

I quite agree with you respecting Donald Trump, he is a walking Potemkin village waiting to be exposed as soon as he is nominated and catastrophe will follow for Republicans and conservatives alike.

I see the only remaining "major candidate" to be Marco Rubio and I think we have seen him exposed in this debate for the rather shallow fellow he is.

Ted Cruz will not make a gaffe, he has never put a foot down wrong. It matters not whether he is on his feet on the floor of the Senate for nearly 24 hours or whether he is being interviewed by hostile reporters like Katie Couric, or on the debate stage, Ted Cruz commits no gaffe. Once a nominee becomes apparent the other side goes into high gear to destroy him. Since we are talking about a Republican, the media will join in. However, the campaign itself will turn on some chink in the armor of the Republican nominee and it will probably have to do with form more than substance. George Bush at the checkout counter, Pres. Ford stumbling on the airplane ramp or, more importantly, making a major gaffe about the freedom of Poland.

Trump will make gaffe after gaffe which will not be endearing to independents and Democrats but really offputting. Rubio will be exposed as being shallow. Ted Cruz will simply not give them an opening. He is our best hope.
