he establishment media and Iowa Caucus losers Donald Trump, Ben Carson and Marco Rubio have been savaging Ted Cruz and his campaign team for the tactics that helped Senator Cruz win the Hawkeye State's first-in-the-nation election contest.
But we think that Republicans, and especially conservatives, should celebrate the fact that they have a candidate and a campaign team in the race that are smart, technologically savvy, in the moment, right on the issues and ruthless enough to use every issue and advantage they can identify to win.
First, let's knockdown the ludicrous charge by Donald Trump (repeated to our disappointment by our friend Sarah Palin) that Cruz engaged in some kind of "fraud" in Iowa.
After we got done laughing at the idea that repeating a rumor about another campaign amounted to actionable "fraud" we watched the respected Judge Andrew Napolitano take apart the legal argument on Megyn Kelly's Fox News show The Kelly File.
Judge Napolitano pointed out that...

Ted Cruz 2016!!!
It’s not fair. Trump didn’t win. WWWWWAAAAAAAA
It kind of reminds how everyone hates lawyers, until they need one, in which case they get the nastiest one they can find.
The question isn’t whether he did anything actually illegal (no). The question is whether he behaved in a way that indicates a scummy sleazy character (yes).
Mail.
No thanks, I don’t think celebrating sleaze is something I want to participate in.
Worth repeating:
“This isn’t the first time that Trump has been shown to be totally clueless about election law, and manipulating election laws to their advantage is a favorite tactic of both Democrats and the Republican establishment - remember conservative State Senator Chris McDaniel’s defeat in the Mississippi runoff? No conservative should back a candidate who is so ridiculously vulnerable and weak on that front as is Donald Trump.”
Let’s just call it a Twwwaaaaaaaaa :o)
Yes. If he cheats on the little things, how much will he cheat on the bigger ones? We’ve already had that for 7 years (not counting the Clintons).
Trump told us our leaders aren’t tough enough. He said we don’t need nice.
Cruz takes his advice and suddenly Cruz is the bad guy?
Wrong. Cruz is what we need. We don’t need another McCain who’d afraid to use Obama’s own middle name because it might hurt Barry’s feelings.
Does cheating on one’s wives count?
St. Ted The Greasy and Lord Defender Of Denmark.
Heard RINO Medved on the radio yesterday saying the whole Ben Carson dropping out thing was much ado about nothing, but he was upset about the voter violation mailer. Strange what things offend people.
Trump or Rubio is what they're looking at, just the choice Cruz supporters wanted undecided folks to be making.
Obama's a bad president because he's a left-wing loon hellbent on destroying America. If he was "cheating" to help protect gun rights, preserve marriage, stop abortion, destroy terrorists, cut the deficit, etc., I for one wouldn't have a problem with it. To defeat Japan, we nuked two cities. When the stakes are high, you can't go pussyfooting around with Marquess of Queensberry rules. We need a president who will get conservative things done and not whine about how he "can't," "it's too hard." That's what our Senate does now by refusing to use the nuclear option even though the Democrats did it to them.
“Cruz engaged in some kind of “fraud” in Iowa.”
Fraud is in the eye of the beholder.
Your only argument against Cruz is a phony manufactured lie. Sending out a mailer getting people to the polls isnât âdirtyâ. Appealing to Iowans and asking them to vote for a candidate who is in the race for the long haul (instead of one who is hemorrhaging staff and drying up donations...a wasted vote if Carson is going home instead of campaigning), isnât âdirtyâ either. It only bothers you because the âbirtherâ nonsense didnât sway enough votes to your Trojan Horse candidate.
Good points.
Trump did really well in Iowa....he didn’t spend 2 years there like Ted did when he should have been doing his senate job we were paying him for.
Also...the caucus were strictly dems or repubs...no crossovers, no independents....which Trump will get plenty of. Cruz is never going to get them. Cruz is only going to get those who are happy to be fooled by his phony churchiness.
Trump....right on trade, right on immigration, right on the 2nd amendment, right on GOP corruption.....and without those NONE of the rest of it matters. And the best thing..he is NOT a lawyer.
Totally inappropriate for a conservative forum IMO.
