Bernie Sanders is 74. He grew up playing stickball in the streets of Brooklyn and watching a black-and-white television.
Yet this child of the 1940s, who says Franklin D. Roosevelt is his favorite president, has inspired a potent political movement among young people today.
Young voters' support for Mr. Sanders has created a quandary in Hillary Clinton's campaign headquarters in Brooklyn, where millennial staff members have tried to persuade their peers to back the former first lady.
The discomfort, and, in some cases hostility, toward Mrs. Clinton among young voters is striking. Some of them, feeling the pinch of economic hardship or the burden of college loans, suggest she is too cozy with big banks and corporate America. But polls also show they do not find her trustworthy.
Even those showing up to the Clinton campaign's youth-oriented events do not seem to be embracing her candidacy.
Last month in Iowa, Mrs. Clinton appeared at a joint rally in Iowa City with the 23-year-old pop star Demi Lovato. Like many college students in the crowd, Nate Weger, 20, said he was supporting Mr. Sanders but was not going to say no to a free Demi Lovato concert.

Every time I see Clinton yelling, shaking her fist, and looking angry, this is what I hear, “pick up your socks, take out the garbage, and cut the grass!!”
It’s very appealing to students when Bernie tells them he’s going to tax all Wall Street investments and returns to pay for their college.
Does that mean he watched "The Jeffersons?"
Sanders is dangerous. He is really convieing people that they can have everything handed to them from Washington. He is really good at selling the myth that everyone else will pay for freebies for his drones.
Only the clueless would think Hillary is polished or poised-but then these are the little cupcakes who don’t realize that the free stuff they are being promised will be paid for with THEIR taxes as soon as they get a paycheck-sticker shock...
I know quite a few millennials. We disagree vehemently about politics most of the time, but we all agree when it comes to Hillary Clinton. They all think she is a crooked, dishonest, conniving political whore.
The millennials may be brainwashed and misguided, but they like to fancy themselves as principled and they see right through Hillary.
I think they are sot adept at lying, that like Hillary it comes just as second nature to them. I don’t believe for a moment that they see Hillary as either polished or poised, but they must continue to repeat that narrative to the masses if they are to propel her past Bernie, whom they recognize would spell doom in the general election.

Bernie....the “I want my freebies” special millennial snowflake choice.
Hillary always reminded me of the old hag sitting at the end of the bar hoping to catch one of the younger women’s left-overs.
