TRUMP: I will 'probably' sue because Ted Cruz cheated in Iowa

After accusing Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) of "illegally" stealing a win from the Iowa caucuses, Donald Trump said Wednesday that he'll "probably" sue over the results of the vote.

Trump said this in an interview on Boston Herald Radio

When asked if he would file a formal complaint over the caucuses' results, Trump replied, "probably."

"What [Cruz] did is unthinkable," Trump said, later stating that Cruz was a "really fraudulent" character.

Earlier in the day, Trump fired off a raging tweetstorm accusing Cruz of cheating in Iowa. Trump even suggested the Republican Party take the unprecedented step of holding a do-over election in Iowa or nullifying Cruz's results.

The “Voter Violation” Certificate. The media made a ridiculously big deal over a normal campaign mailer that the Cruz campaign sent out this year in Iowa; so did the Iowa Secretary of State. The mailer says: “ELECTION ALERT: VOTER VIOLATION,” “FURTHER ACTION NEEDED,” and adds, “You are receiving this election notice because of low expected voter turnout in your area. Your individual voting history as well as your neighbors’ are public record. Their scores are published below, and manyo f them will see your score as well. CAUCUS ON MONDAY TO IMPROVE YOUR SCORE and please encourage your neighbors to caucus as well. A follow-up notice may be issued following Monday’s caucuses.” Here’s what the mailer looked like:

Cruz refused to apologize, stating, “I will apologize to no one for using every tool we can to encourage Iowa voters to come out and vote.”

The Rubio campaign sent out its own version of the voter violation notice:

Worth noting: Democrats have used similar tactics for years, as The Washington Post points out. If you’ve ever received junk mail before that looks somewhat like an official paper, this should have been no surprise to you. But Trump is trying to spin it into a case that Cruz tried to imply that it would be illegal not to vote for him. That’s patently ridiculous.

I applaud Trump for trying to bring LEGITIMATE ELECTIONS back to America. For a change.

How? By going after the actual vote fraud committed by Democrats?

This is penny-ante nonsense.

Yeah, Cruz is slippery and he plays hardball.

But Trump has completely lost me.

He is melting down as I type.

Trump would have a rather solid case to make, seeing how the Cruz campaign committed election fraud.

The building animosity between Trump and Cruz is bad.

I can see no probable route to the white house this time that does not have Trump at the top of the ticket.

Trump/Cruz is what I was hoping for.... but It’s getting to the point where I doubt they can kiss and make up.

So we are looking at a Trump/Rubio ticket to get a large portion of the GOPee vote IMO. Would be better with Trump/Cruz and getting the conservative vote and the wider coalition Trump brings in.

I don’t want anything elevating Rubio :-(

IMO, the mud is really going to fly starting with NH. At the end both Trump and Cruz may be too damaged to carry on... this means Rubio will be the nominee :-(

There is so much ammo to use against both Trump and Cruz that I shudder at the though of the negative ads that will be run.

Cruz got called on it. We don’t need a guy who is trying to lie his way to the candidacy.

“Do we need a man with this temperament as POTUS?”

I don’t want this egotistical windbag in charge of our military. That’s for damn sure.

No, Trump looks unhinged. You’re backing a guy who seems unable to stay on topic or to be able to address the real concerns of voters. He peaked too soon, before the voting. He’s looking more and more like an unbalanced clown. I think he’s funny.

Cruz would not make it in the military as lying gets you canned.

It’s not Trump that talks to much? It’s Cruz. I heard him on CNN a few minutes ago give a live interview and once again this nutcase repeated the lie that Trump is all for ObamaCare and wants to expand it! How many times has Trump said he would repeal and replace ObamaCare and the cost of it is a nightmare. Cruz knows this and still repeats the lie. But the big lie and the absolute proof that Cruz thinks we’re all morons is this: He now says Trump is weak on illegal immigration and wants to grant amnesty to all illegals that are living in the country. No kidding. That’s the lie that this character keeps repeating. He knows damn well that from the minute Trump said he wanted to deport all illegals in the country and he then let some back in the LEGAL way, after they meet all requirements. This is not amnesty and Cruz knows it. This was said by Trump months ago and the sneaky little sawed-off Cruz never said it was amnesty, which of course it’s not. Cruz is not playing with a full deck. On lying he takes his cue from Goebbels, who was famous for saying “if you repeat the same lie enough times, people will start believing it”.

Ted Cruz is a disaster. Looks to me like he and Glenn Beck are brothers. One’s as crazy as the other.

I have a question about that aspect. If someone put my name and information about me, even if it's public, on a campaign folder without my authorization, I'd be really upset. That flyer associates peoples names with shaming their neighbors to vote. I'm SHOCKED that Iowa voters weren't more offended.

Isn't that illegal, to use a name as part of a campaign initiative, without approval? I can think of many cases over the years where candidates have gotten in trouble for putting folks names on their "approved by" lists without permission.
