Trump blames the VOTERS for Iowa loss: Republican claims he got no credit for self-funding - then claims he isn't getting credit for 'long-shot great finish'

Donald Trump spent this morning doling out blame on Twitter for his Iowa loss.

'I don't believe I have been given any credit by the voters for self-funding my campaign, the only one. I will keep doing, but not worth it!' Trump tweeted.

He also pointed fingers at the media for now crowning his second place finish behind Ted Cruz a win.

'The media has not covered my long-shot great finish in Iowa fairly. Brought in record voters and got second highest vote total in history!' Trump wrote.

The usually Twitter-happy Donald Trump kept quiet for 15-plus hours in the aftermath of the Iowa caucuses, where he was bested Cruz, but finally popped back online this morning to thank voters and spin his defeat.

'My experience in Iowa was a great one. I started out with all of the experts saying I couldn't do well there and ended up in 2nd place,' Trump tweeted. 'Nice.'

'Because I was told I could not do well in Iowa, I spent very little there - a fraction of Cruz & Rubio. Came in a strong second,' Trump continued. 'Great honor.'

Trump is looking forward to New Hampshire, a state where his polling edge is in double digits, where he'll campaign tonight in Milford in a bid to bury his Iowa defeat.

'I will be talking about my wonderful experience in Iowa and the simultaneous unfair treatment by the media-later in New Hampshire. Big crowd,' he also tweeted.

Then you interpret Trump.

Everyone always has to interpret Trump.

Rush is doing it right now.

I think Trump is very clear about his feelings.

Crystal clear.

He’s saying he’s paying for this so the voters better get out there and elect him.

The other ones that are quiet are the Trumpanzees and Trumbirthers.....

I think cobbling up stupid nicknames and parroting them constantly is a substitute for thinking.

Yes. Those are the ones he's focused on. He's saying that they should have factored in his independence more than they did, that he isn't taking outside money which the other candidates are doing.

I believe that they did factor that in, along with everything else about him. To suggest otherwise is equivalent of calling them stupid.

You don’t have a leg to stand on.

Your statements are so non-sensical, they’re not even worth the time addressing.

Your hatred for Trump is my issue. I have read one positive post from you in months. Your second choice won in Iowa how about being positive. The constant DTS still makes me want to avoid your posts and I know you have information to impart. Your hatred is crystal clear and I can’t but pity what it must do to you.

No, I don’t think so. I think it’s a matter of weighting.

Trump a long shot in Iowa? Except for two weeks in late October and early November when Carson spiked, and a late December through mid January Cruz surge, Trump led all Iowa polling for the last six months. Trump was up 4.7% in the RCP average going into last night.

Trump spent over $3 million on TV ads in Iowa, and I read he had over 50 campaign events there.

What represents “positive” for you?

Here are my thread posts.

I don’t “hate” Trump.

I don’t trust him.

Oh for God’s sake. Gilmore lost. Sheesh.....what is wrong with everyone. Getting 2nd out of 12 people is not losing especially Iowa.

I don’t know if Cruz is establishment but he has been working in DC for 20 years. So who knows? I guess it depends on how the voter looks at it.

I’m a Trump supporter and that tweet he sent was kinda dumb and ambiguous. Not the end of the world. Everything is magnified right now.

Well Mr. Trump, that’s the way it works. Voters decide whether you win or lose. Not polls. Now why don’t you go back to calling them stupid like you did before?
