Trump blames the VOTERS for Iowa loss: Republican claims he got no credit for self-funding - then claims he isn't getting credit for 'long-shot great finish'

Donald Trump spent this morning doling out blame on Twitter for his Iowa loss.

'I don't believe I have been given any credit by the voters for self-funding my campaign, the only one. I will keep doing, but not worth it!' Trump tweeted.

He also pointed fingers at the media for now crowning his second place finish behind Ted Cruz a win.

'The media has not covered my long-shot great finish in Iowa fairly. Brought in record voters and got second highest vote total in history!' Trump wrote.

The usually Twitter-happy Donald Trump kept quiet for 15-plus hours in the aftermath of the Iowa caucuses, where he was bested Cruz, but finally popped back online this morning to thank voters and spin his defeat.

'My experience in Iowa was a great one. I started out with all of the experts saying I couldn't do well there and ended up in 2nd place,' Trump tweeted. 'Nice.'

'Because I was told I could not do well in Iowa, I spent very little there - a fraction of Cruz & Rubio. Came in a strong second,' Trump continued. 'Great honor.'

Trump is looking forward to New Hampshire, a state where his polling edge is in double digits, where he'll campaign tonight in Milford in a bid to bury his Iowa defeat.

'I will be talking about my wonderful experience in Iowa and the simultaneous unfair treatment by the media-later in New Hampshire. Big crowd,' he also tweeted.

Well most likely it will be the complete opposite in New Hampshire. Well see how Cruz acts. Cruz will probably be gracious in front of everyone but behind the scenes look out. You have to admit he is a bit sneaky.

Wow. Trump held it in all night. I wondered when he would explode and start the blame game.

Didn’t take long.

Whine ... no respect
whine ... I self funded my campaign
Whine ... does nobody see how great I am
Whine ... nobody expected me to win any votes at all and I came in second ... not even a close second though.

“Both got exactly what they wanted last night, an establishment guy in 1st and 3rd place to show up that Trump idiot”

Trump has more establishment support than Cruz. He was even bragging about how Cruz doesn’t have any support from them while he does. So what are you talking about?

Oh wow. Holy cow. I did not remember that. Good point. I do find it hilarious how suddenly Iowa is this big important state when I swear last week Cruz supporters were basically calling it a “doesn’t matter” state. Overall politics is fun and frustrating. I was ok with Cruz winning it......but that sermon was a bit much..........I can’t believe he spoke so long as if he won the Presidency and I am sorry he gets boring.....something about the voice.

Voters decide whether you win or lose.

True and they decided Cruz won and Gilmore lost. See how that works?

Could Trump have went into decline when he started talking about how much he likes Pelosi and Reid?

Oooooh, no. Trump may take his marbles and his millions and go home if people don’t start voting for him like they are supposed to.

Exactly. Folks are getting caught up in minutiae and can’t see the forest for the trees.

Yes, both Trump and Cruz are flawed candidates, but they are still head and shoulders about everybody else, let’s get rid of the others, then we can go toe-to-toe between Trump and Cruz.

Trump no longer has to discuss Cruz’ eligibility. the Democrats are now focused upon it. First thing discussed about Ted Cruz after they called Iowa. Hillary will win Dem nomination.

Obama is laughing his butt off right about now...

I think it is off message.

He should be talking about borders, walls, illegal immigration, sanctuary cities, muslim terrorists, jobs, terrible trade deals, national security, his tax plan, and his financial independence from big donors. Pelosi and Reid are off topic. Even ethanol is off topic.

People flocked to Trump because of security and jobs. He should focus on that
