Trump’s ego took a yoooge hit. Hopefully it humbles him down and does not get negative. His “lead” in NH can only go down with both Cruz and Rubio carving him like thanksgiving turkey.

He needs to apologize to Cruz and join him against the progressives. But Trump is an old dog, so learning new tricks may be hard for him.

It was a very good speech. Cruz’s speech you better have a drink before listening......my goodness he can talk........everytime I think he is going to stop he goes on. I will never watch the State of the Union with this guy......it will be over at 2 am......this is crazy. Is he President and I wasn’t told??????? Good gracious he must be turning people off. Maybe he thinks this is his one and only moment.

Every time Iowa caucuses, people end up scratching their heads and saying “How’d that happen?”. Cruz deserves congratulations, as do the other candidates who fought the good fight. I was very proud of Trump’s performance and rise to a top tier finish even after being told he couldn’t win. That’s just the kind of competitor he is! Now it’s on to the next round in NH and then SC and on and on.

It’s always fun to dream about a hard thing being easy but that’s why they’re called dreams ;-) Each of these primaries is a great learning experience and you don’t get to be Donald Trump without being a fast learner, and using every opportunity to make the next project better than the previous one.

Go Trump!

Trump only got 25% of the GOP vote, and I don’t know who’s going to be for him in two months who isn’t for him now. Meanwhile, as candidates drop out, I think that most of the votes of the also-rans will eventually go to Cruz or Rubio, not Trump. So I think this is the beginning of the end of Trump.

Thanks for posting this thread.

As I mentioned in posting on another thread, what a gracious and classy speech by Mr. Trump.

It is good to keep in mind that in recent history (if I'm not mistaken), Huckabee won the 2008 Iowa Caucus, then McCain (the eventual Republican nominee that year) went on to win the New Hampshire Primary.   Likewise, in 2012, Santorum won the Iowa Caucus, then Romney (the eventual Republican nominee that year) went on to win the New Hampshire Primary.

This is just round 1, and there are many rounds to go, and it can be helpful to take a look at recent election seasons, and to maintain a long-term, balanced view of the whole election process.

(Some of the more high-strung Cruz supporters here on FR sound almost maniacal on different threads, as they emotionally express their vitriolic bitterness in victory!   What on earth will they be like when they actually lose something?)

To all Trump supporters, just remember that great immortal quote of John Paul Jones:

"I have not yet begun to fight!"
Goodnight to all here on this thread (including the high-strung Cruz supporters).

I have to admit that I’m disappointed he came in 2nd in IA. I hope he recovers and goes on to win the nomination.

I support Cruz but will gladly vote for Trump.

Good speech.

Maybe it’s time to direct our ire at the Democrats instead of letting the media and our recently joined posters tell us who to vote for?

Sir, fine job. And there are those of us who feel your pain. We look beyond this and see what America could be again. Please never lose sight of that vision. go TRiUMPh

And to Sen Ted - congratulations for a well fought fight and coming out on top of Rubio. If Trump had to lose, you were the one to make that happen. Go lightly on Dr. Carson. You may find yourself in need of his help one day. The time is fast approaching where every true patriot will be in need of help from other like minded brothers and sisters. United we stand and have the opportunity to win the fight. Divided, we fall and deservedly so. Just as an aside...there is still the nagging question as to how you intend to show yourself to be an NBC when the moon dogs (Nancy, Hillary, Reid) come knocking on your door howling at the brightness of the light shining down on you. Now, is there anyone out here who can enlighten this one as to what happened on our X-Files this evening? Dang it, the entire program was missed!!

That was nice. He dropped a hint (more accurately, I merely inferred) that Mike Huckabee will be his running mate.

Meanwhile, Hillary won six out of six coin flip tiebreakers, and 90 precincts' ballots are missing.
