They’re implicitly admitting they can influence/choose our leaders.
Isn’t this election going to be a fight between Billionaires?

I'm a Cruz supporter who would like to see the Koch brothers use their considerable resources and commitment more productively.

They are social liberals, but they mostly back anti-Tax anti-Reg guys. Anything they pull would likely backfire if it has their fingerprints. They have more ready money than Trump, but Trump doesn't have to spend his to get positive (at least for most Republican) press.

Rubio still looks like he’s running for class president or something.

Cruz...won tonight, give him that. But nobody who has ever worked with him has ever said a kind word about him. Polished, intelligent...not sure about his electability long term and the Canada thing will loom large.

Rubio, weak on immigration, not tough enough overall. Too young, too establishment.

Trump, crush Isis, build a wall, stop muslim immigration, close mosques. Hey, good enough for me.

Donors = slave owners.

They buy off our elected representatives and turn our votes into leashes around our necks.

Yup. Now they’ve got their fair-haired boy. Rubio will pick up tons of media attention and campaign funds from this.

All of Yeb!s backers will flock to the one guy who’ll play ball and actually has a chance.

Rubio is now a problem for both Ted and Don’s camps.

Interesting. Cruz may have won the caucus but tonight’s real winner, if you really think about it, was Marco Rubio. Now the Koch Brothers and all the other GOPe money bundlers are gonna be giving funds left and right to Rubio ensuring he’ll be able to compete with Trump and Cruz well into March and maybe beyond. His finishing a close third tonight was the worst thing that could of happened. Now the GOPe is inspired because they got a second wind, and now they’re gonna go all out to take down Cruz and Trump.

The crux of the Koch brothers' anti-Trump strategy, and their reasons for opposing him:

The Koch official shared for the first time focus group research the network had commissioned showing that Trump's popularity falls when voters are shown how working people have suffered as a result of his bankruptcies and business dealings in Atlantic City, N.J. Stories of Trump's efforts to enrich himself by hurting ordinary people proved most effective at generating negative views of Trump, donors were told.

Several older donors spoke passionately against Trump in the private session, and only one donor in the room made a half-hearted attempt to defend him.

(snip)

Some Koch donors are refreshed by Trump's style and his willingness to reject political correctness and speak his mind. But his past support for tax increases, universal healthcare and other liberal issues means, they say, he cannot be trusted.

"You have to judge Trump on his past statements, and while it's clear he's been on two sides of nearly every issue, the one side he's never been on is our side," said the donor who attended the session but asked not to be named. The conversations were held in a setting that was closed to the small number of press allowed into the resort, which the Koch network rented out in its entirety and stocked with heavy security to prevent infiltration.

Trump the billionaire runs for office. The Koch billionaires hide in the shadows and try to put a candidate in office that they control.

They favor free enterprise. Trump’s support for ethanol was an example of what they don’t like about him. He represents the “tell people what they want to hear” approach to the economy.
