Posted on 02/01/2016 3:07:17 PM PST by markomalley

A search shows that nobody's opened up a live thread for tonight's caucuses. So here goes.

Predictions? For both the GOP and Dem nominations?

Eyewitness Accounts? See any funny business going on?

I don’t care.

I support Cruz. Trump will probably win the primaries and I will then vote for him unless the trumpettes tick me off too much, then I might sit on my hands.

Hillary up by just 1% with 77% reporting. I would LOVE to see her lose.

I’m with you. But this is only Iowa; it’s not over.

And, no, we DON’T have a voice any more. Whether it’s cheating in precincts or Microsoft having the power over final tallies, we’re just individuals with no real power.

Still... Trump is the only one I trust, so will not vote in Nov. if he isn’t our candidate. At first I thought I would, but I won’t.

For those of you not watching MSNBC

That's still on?

Rubio wins !!!

The big headline often is someone doing "better than expected!" in these early primary states. Paul Tsongas won the New Hampshire primary in 1992...did he get any momentum from that? Nope - he was hardly talked about - because Clinton did "better than expected!" by placing second.

If your scenario holds Rubio will need a lot of Dem voters because a lot of Republicans will stay home in November.

That’s been one of my reasonings for choosing Trump barely over Cruz. Cruz might not be able to pull in swing states as well as Trump.

Iowa isn’t a ‘winner take all’ state. Right now Trump, Cruz, and Rubio each have 5 delegates to take to the convention.

That's an excellent point. In essence, if things hold up, we have a 3-way tie. Pretty much how it went in 2012 with Santorum, Romney and Paul.

Santorum "won" Iowa by a total of 34 votes over Romney. Ron Paul wasn't that far behind in third.

Well, on to New Hampshire and as for Iowa, as they say about the Grateful Dead, what a long, strange trip it's been.

you trump people are full of empty excuses. I read through your posts and you’re all over the board. first trumps going to win then it’s bad if trump wins then it’s this then it’s that.

your guy is losing. face it.

You mean the establishment wins.

On to NH. Let’s see if Sergeant Cruz of the Yukon and Ricky Ricardo can make up over a 20 point deficit in a week’s time. No more caucus BS.

RCP averages.

Trump 33 Cruz 11 Rubio 9

Rubio took some of Trumps votes...5-7% of it.

Why do you think this is the case?

Sure hope he DOES because I can’t vote for any of these clowns.
