About 1-in-4 federal employees would consider leaving their jobs if Donald Trump is elected president, according the results of a recent survey conducted by the Government Business Council.

Overall, about 2-in-3, or 67 percent said they would not think about leaving the federal government if Trump becomes president, but 14 percent said they would and 11 percent said they would "maybe" leave. Just 8 percent said they did not know. The share of Democrats who said they would leave is higher, with 42 percent indicating that they would exit or could exit.

Among all of those surveyed, 59 percent said they would be embarrassed to have Trump as president, compared to 49 percent who said the same for Hillary Clinton, 45 percent who would be embarrassed with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, 37 percent with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and just 20 percent for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.

Of those surveyed, 42 percent identified as Republicans, 31 percent as Democrats, while 8 percent said they did not know and 19 percent declined to state.

What’s the # for Cruz? If the Trump # is a lot higher than the Cruz # I could switch.

Seriously, if 25% of Feds would quit - and they’d probably be the worst of the worst, the Lois Lerners - that would trump any reason for voting for anyone.

We need fewer workers, fewer computers, fewer desks, less sq ft office space, lower comp expense - less government on every conceivable metric.

That would be great and would help we the debt - but I doubt these whiners would give up their cushy jobs, pensions, and health care.

“One thing they do with cuts is eliminate new hires.”

The problem with that strategy is that it would simply entrench existing employees, and give them even more power to resist necessary changes.

A hiring freeze can be a good way to rein in runaway payroll costs — but, only if you’re otherwise happy with the job existing employees are doing. It’s not a good way to make reforms happen.

Are these guys trying to have Trump sweep every state? First all the liberal nutcases are moving overseas and now 45% of the useless DC workforce will quit. Be still my heart.

Fine. . . Tell them they can all quit and then fire them all if they don't quit after two weeks. Kind of like Reagan and the Air Traffic Controllers.

Clean out the socialist hen house and then replace them with Hillsdale and other conservative college and university graduates. Can't we find enough applicants for federal jobs from The 70 Most Conservative Colleges in America and The Top 100 Conservative Colleges?

I would love to be on that interview committee! I ask you, Who Would the Founders Hire and where would they look for applicants? I'm proud to say, my school, Creighton University, made the list.

Let them leave. Then I can get my work done without their incompetence hindering me.

Some of us actually believe in working for the American people, not the Communist In Chief and his Red House.

Celebrities are definitely the worst. A lot of wind and stink and from the shallowest part of the gene pool.

Did your mom throw the can of dog food at you?
I would have.

Hollywood would turn republican the next day. These people do not know how lucky they are . Some of us go food shopping and have to decide to give up certain things while the liberal elitist talk about making us pay 90% of our hard earned money while they get a great accountant and put their money overseas.

(Another great reason to vote for The Donald!)

That is what I was thinking. Hopefully, he will get rid of another large percent of the useless ones in the federal government.

Its the same kind of liberal ideology that tells them to support banning guns..they hate guns yet all of the Oscar ceremonies and other award ALWAYS have armed security. You can’t get into these events unless you pass dudes with GUNS, yet these same celebrities talk about how we the people shouldn’t have them..fine, let their armed guards give up their guns and walk around with bananas instead, I hear those banana peels can be really slippery when you fall on them, could thwart an attack!
