In approximately 12 and a half hours, the Iowa caucuses will begin in earnest. Right now, it appears as though Donald Trump is going to do quite well in the Hawkeye State, as he currently leads Ted Cruz by 9 points. 34-25%
Unlike the Democratic caucus, the rules are much simpler for delegates on the Republican side. There are no viability thresholds and the process is much more straightforward. If you get a little more than 3.7% of the statewide vote, you will be walking away with at least 1 delegate.

Trump poll ping. OT Politics are new this cycle, but they seem to be in line. Cruz taps out at 25%, Trump has been consistently pulling low 30’s except in DMR.

In approximately 12 and a half hours, the Iowa caucuses will begin in earnest. It's still 24 hours until the caucuses start.

Not sure the mailer had any effect. Cruz is never consistently breaking 25% and does not seem to be dropping. I just think he has a max of support and can’t get get over that level.

1237 delegates needed to clinch the GOP nomination. If those poll results hold, Trump picks up 10 or 11 delegates in Iowa, Cruz 7 or 8.

never heard of this poll before, but wouldn’t surprise me if Trump does better than the 5% differential with Cruz that the last enemedia poll showed; I suspect that nasty Cruz mailer along with the blizzard of resulting bad publicity 24 hours before the caucuses will depress Cruz’s results somewhat.

A little loss here, a little loss there adds up over time.
Cruz has had a bad two weeks.
And he has been on a downward trend.
So, those small mistakes do add up over time.
