ALBANY, GA (WALB) - On Wednesday, a police officer was escorted from a classroom at Darton State College.
The officer is a student at the college, and was wearing his full police uniform.
The teacher was reportedly uncomfortable with having a gun in the classroom, and asked the officer to be escorted out.
The university has issued a statement, reading:
"Darton State College is appreciative for the service of our law enforcement, and welcome them as students on our campus. We have apologized to the officer for our misunderstanding when he attended class on our campus, and we regret this happened. We have met with the faculty and staff involved to reiterate the Georgia Law and Darton Policy." - Dr. Thomas Ormond, Interim Provost/VP for Academic & Student Affairs, Darton State College
Cops are your enemy?? Wow. Liberal and stupid. What a loser.
Well, if cops are your enemy I don’t see you waging war on them. I mean, what are you, some kind of coward too??
Assuming that "well behaved" includes being in compliance with state and local ordinances; where is the problem?
Don’t be a pussy. A cop in uniform could mean it is after or before a shift. Many departments allow someone to take a class during a shift in some circumstances.
But either way, why does it matter why he was in uniform or not.
It’s a good thing to have him there.
Are you drinking?
“If a terrorist came into her gun free school with an AK-47 blazing would she want to see that same police officer armed and whiling to place his life on the line to save her worthless hide?”
I was taking a GVPT class on terrorism, and the teacher had arranged for some FBI CT training outfit to burst into the classroom (with fake guns and RPGs) and take us all “hostage,” but had to modify her plan because one of the students was a police officer who carried. She had to warn us in advance to avoid potential bloodshed.
In the words of Thomas Sowell “grow up”.
And I AM a cop. chew on that one.

Class is right after work.
I take classes for retired people (OLLI). Most are held in big churches. I suspect half of each class would sh** if they knew I was carrying. Have viewing and service for a friend thus week. Will conceal carry there too. It’s now a life style and just part of dressing in the morning.
It’s an all too easy habit to fall into because we hear it ad nauseam.
Thanks for taking my post in the spirit it was intended....and Molone Lave!
And you're just a liberal ass!
