The latest polls show GOP frontrunner Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in a virtual dead heat less than 72 hours before Monday's Iowa GOP caucuses begin.

But Cruz has one key advantage none of the other candidates, not even Trump, can claim...

Guess it’s time for DT to turn his nasty guns on Breitbart now! He dared to post something that might be remotely negative about him!

For Trump to win in Iowa, his support will have to come overwhelmingly from voters who are already registered as Republicans. The tens of thousands of newly registered caucus-goers just haven’t materialized. Personal connections still mean more than ephemeral ‘enthusiasm’.

It's a wait and see. Whatever the end game, I think the spread is going to be a lot bigger than we think.

Being a conservative is one thing. Getting the job done is another. Ted's Senate history is not so great.

I’ve heard its impossible to win in the gnereal with a 70% negative rating, as Trump has. How would you answer that?

Unfortunately they can register to caucus on Monday. I can see the “formerly lib democrat” Trump bussing in “new voters” from IL or MN. After all, if you can’t get there on merit buy or cheat your way in.

Note: I am not accusing Trump of cheating, just wouldn’t put it past him.

“Ted’s Senate history is not so great. “

But I think Ted’s senate history is incredible, standing against McConnell and McCain and Graham. So one of us is quite blind.

I did a quick check and your right. Gallup has his current negative at 60%. My question still stands.

Sounds like something Trump would do. If they did do it, then shame on them. But this is a very widespread practice and has been done for years by campaigns on both side of the political aisle.

There are very few locations in Iowa where bringing in cheaters could take place, and even fewer places where such cheating could happen in the Republican Party.

The Iowa Secretary of State, and the rest of the Iowa government isn’t going to allow a single candidate to kill the goose that lays golden eggs.

Agree, there’s several thousands of registered voters that don’t attend caucuses but
vote on election day. So Trump’s objective is to motivate them to caucus for him.

Will it work? We won’t know until about 9pm Monday night.

Trump didn't do it. Cruz did. At least his campaign did.

And it's deplorable.

Defend this tactic if you want. I condemn it.
