One explanation of how the shooting of LaVoy Finicum unfolded. Worthy of consideration, IMO.

Yeah....this is the company to whom I wrote back in 2008 about him. I think they severed relations with him not long after (not just because of me, but from thousands of other irate gun aficionados, too). I don't think he still works for them. As I recall I got pretty nasty about it.

If he was black, there would be riots in the streets. That looks like cold-blooded murder to me. Killing the man was totally unnecessary.

We’re watching Muslim terrorists come into our country while the FBI is out gunning down old ranchers? This is what our tax dollars are paying for?

The FBI won’t do anything about the Muslim terrorists coming in because it would be politically incorrect. They have no problems gunning down old white ranchers.

I haven’t followed this story because I’ve been too busy. What little I’ve seen is shameful.

It was a classic blocked ambush. Mr. “I read the bible and Constitution in bed” former combat medic Sheriff set it up and likely positioned his men for the ambush. The driver left the vehicle to divert their shots from the vehicle to him. He likely saved the lives of the vehicle’s other occupants.

He was hoping they would not kill the women by him drawing the attention.

If one looks at the "ROE" for Ruby Ridge, an ROE in and of itself is a constitutional violation. Each and every use of force, lethal or otherwise must meet a constitutional criteria set by the SCOTUS decisions involved. Giving a "red and free" criteria for all adults in the compound violated that. The person writing that order should have known that. All the agents taking part should have known that. No excuses.

Massive authority requires massive responsibility.

Afterwards, Weaver was ‘convicted’ of one count of not showing up in court. IIRC he and his family got a $3.1M settlement from the government and one of the others got somewhere near $380,000.

Horiuchi, who had penned a sketch in his hotel room after the engagement showing the door, aiming point and silouettes of two people inside plus one outside, the government’s prosecution tanked. In COURT he testified that the only person he saw was the perp running into the door. Outright lie.

When members of the Fed team were charged, they were dismissed because of immunity of government ‘enforcers’ or something like that. MURDERER.

Despite the claims on the video it is not at all clear who fired at Mr finicum first, what precipitated the shooting, who said what to who, or if Mr Finicum made any threatening motions. It is almost all pure conjecture and bias on the narrator’s part.

So plausible that an honest, dispassionate observer could easily come to believe it to be the most likely way it happened.

“So plausible that an honest, dispassionate observer could easily come to believe it to be the most likely way it happened.”

Certainly plausible, but he could have turned because he heard someone behind him yelling commands, he could have reached for his side because he was shot or to grab his weapon, he could have pointed because he recognized someone or because that person shot at him. There are many plausible explanations.
