Unbelievable – Ted Cruz Campaign Sends Out Personal “Shaming Letters” To Iowa Voters…
conservativetreehouse ^ | 1/30/2016 | sundance

Posted on 01/29/2016 10:28:45 PM PST by 20yearsofinternet

The personalized letters target individual Iowa voters and identifies them as having failed to vote in prior elections. They are admonished and then encouraged to vote this year. In addition the letters identify the neighbors of the voter, and provides their voting history.

The text reads:

"You are receiving this election notice because of low expected voter turnout in your area. Your individual voting history as well as your neighbors' are public record. Their scores are published below, and many of them will see your score as well. CAUCUS ON MONDAY TO IMPROVE YOUR SCORE and please encourage your neighbors to caucus as well. A follow-up notice may be issued following Monday's caucuses".

In an effort to shame the recipient, the notice also informs the targeted voter their neighbors have also been notified of the recipients poor voting record.

Nope, I’m for deporting every illegal alien and NOT bringing th “good ones” back in an “expedited” process like Trump wants to.

I’m also not afraid of someone who happened to have dual citizenship at birth to a country he was too young to remember even being in.

I was reading Ezekiel about God’s hatred of those killing his children , causing them to pass through the idol’s fire.

I may be eating some crow. I really can't stand Trump but looking down the ticket is pretty depressing. Rubio? Kasich? Christie? Carson? Paul? Huckabee?

Trump picked the right election to throw his hat into the ring.

Better pray that Trump has really converted from his past. If not, then the nation is pretty much doomed.

These are clearly people not likely to vote. Every tactic has probably already been tried to motivate them. So this is a last-resort effort. It might be the only motivation they understand to actually get involved and stop the liberal takeover of America.

Or they choose not to participate in the caucasus.. Either way, isn't it ultimately up to the voter to decide if they wish to vote, or are you advocating mandatory voting?

I hope this isn’t true. It shows a big brother streak.

It would be one thing if he just sent a mailer to individuals, even reminding them that they haven't voted, but to send it around listing each other's neighbors. WTF?

And that envelope...lol.

Cruz's campaign manager has already owned it.

Well, I think his next job may be Car Wash Manager. He just finished off his candidate. Who would hire him after this?

You know about a month ago I read an article about Jeff Roe, the campaign Manager for Ted Cruz.

The article basically said that Jeff Roe was a total sleazeball jerk. He even caused one of the opponents of a previous client to commit suicide because if his vile campaign tricks. It made me wonder why a supposedly upstanding person would hire someone like that.

That mailing sounds like the kind of idiotic thing Jeff Roe would do.

Just like you I study marketing campaigns all the time. It’s why I can’t comprehend why anyone would think this horrible tactic would make anyone enthusiastic or even sympathetic to the candidate circulating it. The message is like that old William Castle potboiler: “I saw what you did, and I know who you are.” Not exactly an “I Like Ike”-style message. It’s just plain horribly bad, on every level. Hope you saw the post with the photo of the envelope. It was mind-numbingly bad before you even opened it!

AHAHAHAHAH.

It seems you realized that you lost the argument, so you’re trying to jump back into the usual trash Trump talking points.

You’d get a lot more mileage and a lot less disrespect by just saying that you’re disgusted with this tactic, but you still support Cruz even if he made some bad decisions.

Instead, it seems that Cruz absolutely MUST be PERFECT or else your own sense of self-worth is destroyed, and so you desperately string yourself out to defend it.

“I’m for Trump but I always thought Cruz would be great as Attorney General or Supreme Court Justice. I don’t anymore.”

No. This is a deal killer at many levels. And any attempt to appoint him would be fought hard, and rightly so.

Sorry, I have REAL issues I’m concerned with solving in the country, and none of them are related to the format of someone’s political junk mail.

Sounds like we’re going to waste our time on another trumped-up non-issue instead of seriously confronting the encroaching socialism, leftism, political correctness and atheism spreading across the country. Focusing on these shallow, tabloid issues is exactly what the left wants. They want our eye off the ball.

The Constitution is not your or Cruz's to manipulate to serve your own self serving purposes. After all Cruz did take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution....

But I do want to thank you for exposing what it means to be a Cruz conservative.... And to think Cruz had the nerve to degrade New York.

Maybe this is the kind of thing staff does when the campaign has $19 million to play with. Since Trump could invest a $billion, this is rather puny, and that announcement could be another sign of desperation. Rick Tyler, Cruz spokesman apparently has confirmed this. See link at Comment #19.

Someone who would do this, these shame mailers with neighbors names and a F for voting history, I wouldn’t want to be elected to anything. It is repulsive, I doubt I can support Cruz for anything now. I actually kind of hope somehow Cruz didn’t know, that he wasn’t informed of these mailers...but then that brings in to question Cruz’s ability to lead. It is a head shaker.

LOL, overreact much? Political campaigns send out a lot of goofy mailers all the time. If you don’t like it, throw it in the circular file and move on. Don’t play the whiny liberal victim card.

This is far worse than Dukakis.
