This morning Governor Merrill was adamant that New Hampshire primary voters would choose an establishment candidate to represent them in the GOP nomination process. He specifically pointed to the campaigns of Jeb Bush and John Kasich as those he approved of.
He also appeared dismissive of the possibility that either Donald Trump or Ted Cruz would win New Hampshire.
Then he dropped a bombshell that clearly had Fox Business host Neil Cavuto a bit stunned.
Merrill indicated it would be a brokered Republican convention regardless, and from there a proper candidate would be nominated.
This would be a process by which all previous primary election decisions would effectively be dismissed during the Republican convention scheduled for July 18th-21st in Cleveland, Ohio.
Delegates would then no longer be obligated to cast votes as determined by earlier primary elections. Instead, Republican power brokers are allowed to intervene and attempt to coordinate/trade/cajole/threaten, a desired outcome. In such a scenario, a majority of the convention delegates could for example, ultimately decide to nominate Jeb Bush to be the 2016 Republican candidate for President even if Mr. Bush did not win a single primary race.
...When a figure like Steve Merrill is so confident in forecasting not only the New Hampshire primary outcome but an eventual brokered convention, voters would do well to pay attention.
The attempted fix is underway.

If it starts - it will not be limited to the GOPe game show ... Once the lead flys, the lid will blow off, and you’ll hear Shakespeare:
“Cry ‘Havoc!’, and let slip the dogs of war” - Julius Caesar
Like I stated earlier: the melting pot has become a pressure cooker - and the excrement is about to hit the oscillating rotatory air mover device.
Yup. It's their party. They can do anything they want.

If this happens I think there will be a revolution. And not a cultural or political one.
Obviously, the plan is to keep this all secret until it is too late for Trump to get on the ballot as third-party in all 50 states. Some people can’t keep their mouths shut, however.
The NY McCain delegates were “persuaded” at the last minute to switch to Bush, remember. That was all the reporters were interested in, sitting next to the holdouts in the dining room and taking up delegate and guest seats until they were booted out.
Funny things happen at the convention. As it used to be, before the primaries became king.
Notice the commonality of all these sources, legit or not: the Ruling Class is going to do everything, within and without the bounds of ethics, morality or legality to make sure their guy is the nominee, which is ensure that HildaBeast or the Marxists still run the show to keep the Mordor on The Potomac’s gravy train running for everyone invested in American Fascism.
It does explain why Jeb continues to insist HE is going to be the nominee, and who doesn’t give a crap about his polls, his debate performances or likeability factor.
The article is about changing rules. So that 8 states would not be required but supposedly it was not approved

I understand your statements. This is why many folks across the land are supporting Trump. Its simple really, the old “He may be a bastard, but he’s our bastard” kind of philosophy. I honestly believe for all his warts and foibles and inescapable flip-flops he is the only candidate on our side that can sweep the board. Is he a conservative? No. Is he a liberal? No. In the end, I believe that Trump wants to do what is right. His public ego is so big that he needs to deliver America to its former greatness otherwise he has failed. He is currently the only candidate out there that can take the power structure and king makers to task and will die trying.
I’m not going to hold my breath. If ObamaCare, Waco, Benghazi, the IRS scandal, Gunwalker, Syrian refugees, the wide open border, .gov documents depicting American Patriots as domestic terrorists and the gunning down of a protester in Oregon wasn’t able to motivate this people against tyranny - then nothing will.
They will suffer evil, because it is sufferable, and the thought of throwing off the chains of tyranny angers and frightens them. They are already comfortable with tyranny and accept it as the status quo.
If a revolution is indeed brewing, what’s coming is a French revolution bloodbath. Not the kind of Revolution you are thinking we are going to revisit.
The Trump vs Cruz threads of late are testament to that fact. We are already too divided amongst ourselves to rally around a point that few are even going to agree is a point to rally around.
I have noticed a subtle change as well. But I don’t think it will be Bush in the end. The furor will be so great that the “compromise” of Paul Ryan will be put forward as if it were suddenly someone’s ingenious idea, as a freeper said upthread.
Kind of funny if they are letting Bush think he’s the big surprise.
OK, I have conspiracied myself into doing something else right now.
GOPee-SHENANIGANS BUMP
If the GOPe does that, I promise there will never be another Republican in the White House.
If the GOPe does that, chances are good there won’t be a White House.
Not as long as the aisles are filled with chips and beer and there’s entertainment to be had on the glowing square...
Mow a few hundred of them down and the rabble will disperse. Probably in time to get the deal done and still have some scotch and cigars afterwards.
If not Trump or Cruz I will consider staying home! I donât need the Elites from either Party much less a demoncrap socialist!
Power broker my ass. Good Lord these New Hampshire politicians are full of themselves.
If the GOP take it to the convention and they shove some wonk like Bush or Rubio up our asses I will not vote for the GOP
At that point they can take their football and go to hell./
They want to stop the will of the people
I hardly consider the governor of NH a power broker
The GOPe may be stupid but I do not think they are suicidal
