Interesting comment from a Yahoo reader:

You would expect to read stories like this from 3rd world countries like in Russia, or the Ukraine - but not the United States - and this guy was the commanding officer of a guided missile destroyer...

Corruption? Accepting something in exchange for classified information is generally considered Espionage.

The article is laughable considering security secrets have been revealed to our enemies by the Clintons and Obamas for years.

This POS should be made an example to deter future traitors. Either life without parole or preferably the firing squad.

I think he was giving ship movements to a defense contractor who serviced foreign ports. Giving the contractor a leg up on getting the contracts.

So it didn’t meet the legal definition of espionage. Not much difference in practice.

Often the case. But Lady Gaga tickets? That is low.

Its not like the military doesn’t remind one or teach one what consists illegal taking of money. Every six months I had to go in with my commander and get explained AFR 30-30, sign it, and get a copy before I could go back out to work with contractors. DPSC had to be involved somehow in this case, they are as much in the loop as was the commander.

Find the highest yardarm...hang him for treason.

Take all pay and benefits, exclude his family from participation in any death benefits, remove his name from any documents that would present him in a good light and preserve his name only on letters of indictment and punishment.

These treasonous pieces of human excrement need to be presented as abiding examples of the consequences of selling your country for a wish and a song.

I have no compassion for him or his family.

Service to the United States Armed Forces is sacred and the oath is binding.

Either live by it or die by it.
