BLOOMFIELD, Iowa - James and Brooks Schooley are raising a young family in this tiny Iowa community. They support Ted Cruz and brought their kids to an old church near the Bloomfield town square to hear the candidate, along with Iowa Rep. Steve King and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry.
The Schooleys like Cruz's faith and his fealty to the Constitution. But their choice is also shaped by their wariness of the Republican front-runner, Donald Trump.
"He's not principled," James Schooley told me, referring to Trump. "He just goes by emotion."
"I feel like he doesn't stick to the Constitution the way Ted Cruz would," added Brooks. "Once you go away from that, then where's your standard? I mean, you can do anything."...

I think that’s a pretty accurate assessment.
“Probably” is the point. Donald was sure to take a complete shellacking from Cruz in the debate. Now, he has created for himself an advantage (news cycles, media opponents) and a disadvantage (”cowardly”, etc.)
I’m just so impressed with both Trump and Cruz. We haven’t see politics played so well in my lifetime.
?? Tgis debate, which will get low ratings and that will become the story, will affect the polling between Cruz and trump?

The reality of your analysis is being proven everyday. How many trolls does that cabal hire and provide their daily venom for posting.
Why should Trump appear at a debate where Kelly is the moderator? She was totally unprofessional in the first debate trying to take Trump out. Kelly should recuse herself to allow Fox to have the debate go forward with all the candidates if that is the objective of Fox. She should remove even the appearance of partisanship.
Of course, she won't do that because the debates are all about the media, not the candidates.
He’s the RINOiest of the bunch. Just my 2 cents that York, his every-Monday guest, is one of the few who actually stays ostensibly apolitical.
I was undecided as early as last week. I wanted to learn as much about Trump and Cruz as I could, rather than rely on emotion and theatrics. Those who do not take the time to personally research candidates are the ones that should remove themselves from the voting process.
So I researched. I have since decided the thrilling emotion of “gotchas” that Trump provides was not leadership it was just singing to sheep.
I stand with Cruz.
Rush just said Trump is refusing to give Fox News the gun to shoot him with.
What a laugh. Six entire debates... Cruz is a punch drunk fighter wanting one more. They all are. Shucks, if they could have put a glove on him they would have. Cruz looked dumbfounded and applauded Trump's response during the last debate to the New York values exchange. Cruz has nothing - even Rubio handed Cruz his butt in a basket.
Trump has been waiting his chance and took it. All the other 'me too' candidates are left picking at each others worthless bones and Fox is losing a ton of advertising money. It is nothing but a win for Trump.

I don’t hate Trump, but I do worry he could suck us further down the rabbit hole (see ethanol). I don’t worry that Cruz would do that.
That said, Trump plays the media like a fiddle.

GOPers do not equal conservatives. GOPers are bad when they’re NOT conservatives and that’s when they get bashed here and elsewhere by conservative people.
Do you listen to Mark Levin or any conservative host? You seem surprisingly ignorant about conservatism in a way not usually seen on a site like this.
There is no logic to what Trump is doing, other than the logic of his own self-promotion. Now he is very good at that, I will admit. But he is a narcissist that cannot stand to be ignored or criticized.
I was mad at Byron York a week or two ago for criticizing Cruz unfairly on something. I can tell you he’s no Cruz shill. If he is posting positive stuff about Cruz or his chances, it’s probably true.
