As news spread of Donald Trump's intention to boycott the Republican debate this Thursday, Ted Cruz's national press secretary tweeted out that the Texas senator wished to challenge the GOP frontrunner to a "mano a mano."
Cruz made the remarks to Mark Levin on his radio show Tuesday night. "If Donald is afraid of Megyn Kelly," Cruz said, "I would like to invite him... to participate in a one-on-one debate, between me and Donald, mano a mano."

Cruz floated Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh as possible moderators -- but he also said he'd be willing to take him on with no moderator at all, should Trump prove to be afraid of all those people too.
He pondered how Trump could be commander-in-chief if he was "terrified of a TV host."

Not if he is in Iowa at another event. If he flies home to his bed in NYC, well then you have a point.

It seems birther investigations are his forte, other than rounding up illegals.
There may be more to Trump quitting the debate than we know today.
Cruz fought them, but Donald just stated that he will work with and compromise with them. Great. Out of the fire and back into the fire.

Yes actually he did. He had to let his colonels, majors and captains know what the plan of battle was. But I think you meant it as in “broadcast” to the wider world.
Simple answer: we don’t elect Pattons or even Bradleys. We sure as hell do elect Presidents to pick men like Patton and Bradley. The candidates don’t have to get down into brass tacks, or tactics. Give us a broad view. “I’d raise Patton from the dead and send him in riding klondike bears with laser beams”, while amusing, won’t cut it.

Trump according to all the polls won all 6 debates, and Trump has nothing to prove. People can call Chicken. Trump handled Wallace, Bear and that HO Me Gyn the first time and the result was Trump lead the polls for the past 5 months.

Just a hunch. Trump thinks he will lose Iowa and wouldn’t benefit by being in the debate. This way he has an excuse.
All that would prove is that Cruz was a college debater and Trump wasn’t.
