Naval Medical Center San Diego warned of a possible active shooter at the military hospital Tuesday morning and urged those at the facility to "run, hide or fight."

Well of course “fight” is always an option. You know, hold your keys between your fingers and poke him. Swing an umbrella. Throw canned food. Fire a double-barrel shotgun into the air. All Left-approved ways of fighting back against assailants armed with high-capacity semiautomatic weapons.
Maybe it was an SUV. Everyone knows how evil those are. Definitely capable of storming singlehandedly.
At a hospital, you have even more options .... you can throw scalpels & gauze rolls.
I’m starting to wonder if there was even a shooting at all. Apparently, one witness “heard” three gunshots and that’s it.
If you want a local station in San Diego, use KUSI Channel 9
They will probably have the best local coverage.
Not sure if they’re live streaming yet.
ABC - KGTV Channel 10
CBS8 - KFMB Channel 8
NBC - KNSD Channel 7
This area is across from Balboa Park. Nobody is being allowed into the Park. But, people are being stopped and then allowed to exit the park.
Yup With a scissors or fire extinguisher We can’t allow our soldiers and sailors to have guns after all
No, they told the local cops to not show up.
Now saying 3 loud noises were reported.
Possible false alarm/panic... due to hysteria phenomenon sweeping nation due to active terrorism in USA, and the threat of terrorism. Crippled nation due to fundamental transformation owing to Kenyan, and his merry band of followers.
I attended active shooter training at my work. State government. I was pleasantly surprised when the training covered the option of fighting. Former law enforcement in my group were surprised as well.
>>What other options are there? Ignore?
California doesn’t have a Report Abuse button on every corner yet.
Californistanians are not as progressive as they’ve been engineered to believe.
Basement is typically where the utility boilers are.
Could be a pop off valve, welder, or a host of other things. Hope everyone is ok.
Yes, but the "fight" part involves something to the effect of "find anything you might be able to use as a weapon, such as a chair or a book or a coatrack, etc, and be prepared to fight the assailant with it until he is subdued"
...and my question is... with what? The bad guys are the ones with weapons.
That is the policy, in order of the recommendation.
Run
Hide and
As last resort Fight
Drudge Report has up: “False Alarm”; just saying, I don’t know myself.
“...and my question is... with what?”
How ‘bout that printer that messes up job options and output? Or the UPS that eats its battery every month with its screechy alarm? Or the coffee carafe that drips all over the counter when pouring coffee? The keyboard with the stuck space key? The monitor that doesn’t wake from sleep until you reboot?
My list is ready and waiting.
At the base where I part-time they had their class and asked what we'd do if there was an *active shooter* in the hallway. One of our salty old Navy chiefs stood up, walked over to the door, and rolled a hand grenade down toward where our paintball gun-armed *shooter* was patiently waiting, who then took a brief recess to change his underwear.
They asked the Chief where he thought he'd be able to get a grenade in the event of a real attack. He answered back I'm in charge of the base EOD [bomb disposal] team, any more dumb questions?
They didn't ask him anything else. I think they wondered if he had used a live or dummy grenade, but were really, REALLY afraid to find out the answer would be one they didn't like.
It seems to be a false alarm but it’s interesting possible military activity/excercise on the other side of the country around the same time:
