Trump is the establishment candidate, and a solid majority are well aware of it.
If he were not the establishments guy, the MSM would have ignored him out of existence. Instead they kept him unavoidably in view with their staged squabbles and drama.

How did McCains and Romneys tailwind work out for Senate Republicans? McCain gave us a veto proof Democrat Senate that was the worst 2 years in Congressional history.

Yep, it’s kind of hard seeing him getting enough votes in the Senate to be confirmed for that. I’d bet that he would get rejected for a cabinet position. For Cruz, it’s become conquer or die - which means he’d have to go into the private sector and make a fortune and then maybe try again in 10 years..

The only reason they're not pulling this stunt against him is because he isn't in the lead.
They are protecting their own, their goal is Rubio or Jeb.
