CHARSADDA: A chemistry teacher who tried to protect his students by opening fire on Taliban militants during a deadly attack at the Bacha Khan University has been hailed as a "martyr" and a "gentleman".
Lecturer Syed Hamid Hussain, an assistant professor of chemistry at the Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, ordered his students to stay inside as Taliban gunmen stormed the school near the city of Peshawar on Wednesday, leaving at least 21 people dead.
Students told of how he opened fire on gunmen as they rampaged across campus, giving the young people time to flee before he was cut down in a hail of bullets.

(Using the reasoning of the average American dumbshit liberal.)
And he was killed by them nonetheless.
A teacher in a school defending his students with his handgun buying them time to escape? An object lesson for schools and colleges in the USA.
The reaction of gunpowder to a spark is chemistry!
Maybe the whole incident was actually a chemistry lesson ?
..And he was killed by them nonetheless.
Yes. He was. It was a selfless act.
Greater love has no man than he who lays down his life to save another. You won’t find that in the Koran.
A true hero in every sense.
the professor must have been listening to Trumps theory on carrying guns in schools. Although some are dead, there are a lot of students who lived because the professor shot back.
Good point.
There are about a dozen guys- and two women- who either sold their lives dearly and took their killers along with them, or lived through their fight and set the example for others who I would hope to do half as well should that end come my way. I don't even know some of their names, but I've got a few old photos and printouts on a wall where I read, and I think of them.
Well, the photo of Syed Hamid Husain of Peshawar is soon to join them, and is his beliefs were not those of others who think of Valhalla as a polace where such warriors gather in the next world, perhaps we'll all find it's not exactly what we expect...and that it's a bit more as well.
Teacher Syed Husein went toe-to-toe with terrorists â and died. But he saved lives.
It is better to die as a Gurkha than to live as a coward.
He was from Peshawar, near Darra. They didn't have to hear any theories from Don Trump there, they've been living it there for centuries.
And now the Taliban will remain in a blood fued with Hussein's family, and with those coming to pay the blood honour debt of those he saved.
He took a few with him, to be sure. But in a decade or two, there'll be dozens, HUNDREDS more, as more of that debt is paid...but not in full; not for decades. They play the game of life pretty hard in that corner of the world.
