Facebook began a Europe-wide campaign on Monday to thwart extremist posts on social media, after German politicians in particular raised concerns about a rise in xenophobic comments linked to an influx of refugees.
The company launched its "Initiative for Civil Courage Online" in Berlin, pledging over 1 million euros ($1.09 million) to support non-governmental organizations in their efforts to counter racist and xenophobic posts.
Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg said hate speech "has no place in our society," including on the Internet.
Facebook's ground rules forbid bullying, harassment and threatening language, but critics say it does not enforce them properly.
On Friday, the firm said it had hired a unit of the publisher Bertelsmann to monitor and delete racist posts on its platform in Germany.

Just go to the root. The koran, the origninal hate literature.
Hammer anyone who believes and or follows Mohammet and the Koran.

Why does Freakbook care about extremist posts? Do they somehow reduce the value of the personal information they sell to marketers, governments, identity thieves, etc.?

I’ll try to dig the link out when I’m on a proper computer and not my smartphone ;-)
There was a thread on it here too, somewhere ...

And by “extremist”, they’re referring to Christians posting bible verses as if they’re true.

Facebook Starts Cracking Down on Extremist Posts in Europe Meaning any speech critical of Islam or it's adherents.
Who would have thought that Zuckerberg would have gone Nazi? Now we are seeing speech control.

See the recent FB experiment where identical extremist sites were set up and put into operation. The only difference being one was anti-Muslim and the other anti-Jewish. Same pictures, same content etc, just swapped out Muslim discriptors for Jewish ones. I'm pretty sure we can guess what happened, but no, I haven't heard of it. What happened?

Took a little digging, since the thread was further back than I recalled.
HERE it is
And if you'd like a lot of links to various stories on it, you can find them
HERE
Here's the summary:
Shurat HaDin - Israel Law Center conducted an experiment on Facebook beginning 28 Dec 2015. They created two identical accounts, one inciting violence against Jews, one inciting violence against Palestinians. The posts and videos on each account were the same except for the targets of incitement. Each new pair of posts or videos was posted at the same time. Then Shurat HaDin simultaneously reported both pages to Facebook. On that day, Facebook closed the page inciting against Palestinians. The page inciting against Jews was not closed and, according to Shurat HaDin, remains open today.

Who are the victims?
The rapists?
As you can see, it is not the women raped...
