Facebook began a Europe-wide campaign on Monday to thwart extremist posts on social media, after German politicians in particular raised concerns about a rise in xenophobic comments linked to an influx of refugees.
The company launched its "Initiative for Civil Courage Online" in Berlin, pledging over 1 million euros ($1.09 million) to support non-governmental organizations in their efforts to counter racist and xenophobic posts.
Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg said hate speech "has no place in our society," including on the Internet.
Facebook's ground rules forbid bullying, harassment and threatening language, but critics say it does not enforce them properly.
On Friday, the firm said it had hired a unit of the publisher Bertelsmann to monitor and delete racist posts on its platform in Germany.

I do not know what she means by that, everytime I hear the term "hate speech", it is usually meaning "non liberal compliance speech". Im not sure if that is what is meant in this case.

See the recent FB experiment where identical extremist sites were set up and put into operation. The only difference being one was anti-Muslim and the other anti-Jewish. Same pictures, same content etc, just swapped out Muslim discriptors for Jewish ones.

It sounds like they are the ones who are filled with hate. They are the ones who are taking action. What is more hateful, to speak your truth, or not give another the opertunity to speak? There is a lot wrong with what is going on with Islam. The only way that it can be made to fit with eurpoean culture is to talk about it.
