British sniper investigated for not shouting warning in Iraq

A British sniper is being investigated for shooting dead an Iraqi insurgent preparing to fire a rocket propelled grenade because he did not shout a warning, according to a pressure group representing former members of the armed forces.

My mom’s first husband was killed by a German sniper - who didn’t issue a warning apparently. My mother never spoke against the sniper. While she mourned her first husband her enitre life, she understood warfare. But she was a WWII generation and so had a modicum of common sense.

That is very likely what happened. He may have been a peaceful "warning sniper" person.

One of my nephews trains dogs in Israel. The dogs are trained to attack anyone who says, “Allahu Akbar.” This is funny as Hell, but there’s a purpose - usually that precedes an attack, so if they are a bit lucky the dog will be ripping the guy to shreds before hit can shoot or knife someone, or push the button on his bomb.
