Florida Sen. Marco Rubio says he bought a gun on Christmas Eve to protect his family from Islamic State militants.
“I have a right to protect my family,†Rubio said in an interview on CBS’ “Face the Nation†on Sunday. “I have a right to protect my family if someone were to come after us. In fact, if ISIS were to visit us or our communities at any moment, the last line of defense between ISIS and my family is the ability I have to protect my family from them or from a criminal or anyone else who seeks to do us harm. Millions of Americans feel that way.â€

That’s fine for Rubio if that’s how he wants to exercise his right. Many Americans understand the 2nd Amendment well enough that they buy guns to be the first line of defense against a rogue domestic government and their families.
In either case, it’s immaterial why one owns a gun; it’s a right.

Where is the gun when he’s on the road campaigning or at the US Senate? It’s his wife who needs the gun and training to protect herself and family while he’s out stumping.

He’s just NOW buying a gun?
Rubio made clear that this new gun is not the only gun he owns. It is an additional gun. If it had been his first gun, then people would be justified in viewing this negatively. That’s not what happened.
This is laughable. It’s Onion - esque.
Great. Now we get to read about this doofus shooting himself in the foot or the hand. Some people are waaaay too clutzy to handle firearms. Waterboy strikes me as one of them.
Ouch. In local elections here, when candidates start flashing their carry permit, everyone just rolls their eyes. They need to flash their voting record and the surveys they have filled out for RMGO, NAGR and NRA.
Harry Reid has a carry permit and an A rating from the NRA. So those don’t mean so much.
I wonder, 9mm or 45 ACP?
