It's worked on one opponent after another. Here's why he's met his match with Cruz. s every verbal bully can tell you, simply slathering your adversary with insult is never enough to drive him publicly, humiliatingly into the ditch. If youâre going to wound, the insults have to contain some truthâoften just a seed of truth, enough to nurture injury bitter fruit. So in calling Jeb Bush low energy again and again and again and again, Donald Trump is not dishing a random taunt at his opponent.

I personally don’t know, but three of them help run his business and all four give him high marks.
“This time, it’s different!”
Time will tell. Thank God we’re finally going to start the actual voting soon.
Hillary couldn't get elected in Arkansas, but she did in NY. Those are the NY "values" that worry us.
Personal attacks show lack of depth in character, Don is racking up a deficit by attacking a conservative like Ted.
I like Ted, however if not for Donald's SPINE he would have been drowned under the gop/dncii party's ocean of surrender monkey candidates.
He’s so nice he has even heaped praise on Pelosi, the Clinton’s, Bloomberg, DeBlasio... Heck, He’s even donated “between $100-$250K to the Clinton massage parlor and “charitable” foundation. He’s just nice
Apparently you were asleep TWO WEEKS AGO when Trump hit the Hildabeast with a verbal 2x4 and destroyed her war on women game plan in one tweet. Now BJ Clinton is a shaking mess of jelly hiding out from reporters! Nobody else in the GOP race could or would have done that. Nobody. Once again Trump defines the debate and others, Ted Cruz included, follow.
Of course he did. He’s a liberal narcissist who will say anything to get what he wants. At the end of the day he gave money to liberals because he is one.
Look, I honestly don’t care how he seeds his money around to the local fiefdoms in Greater NYC because I don’t have to deal with it. In 2008, though, he gave scads of cash to Harry Reid in his race against a Tea Party challenger, which directly contributed to Obamacare and then to keeping the chamber in liberal hands. He proudly and publicly voted for Obama, whose administration targeted the same Tea Party people who are now enthusiastically supporting him. He’s financed the Clintons and helped keep their organization viable while Hil has been waiting her turn. All of this shit has happened in the last eight years, when the rest of us have been fighting like hell against this radical agenda.
Trumpistas around here can put their fingers in their ears and delude themselves all they want about their hero and who he really is, but in the end they’re just the sheep they’ve always claimed to loathe.
And that's why Trump LEADS Cruz in same poll among those who say they are "very conservative?"
And that's why "hit the wall Trump" has REGAINED the lead in IA in four out of the last six IA polls and is tied in a fifth and has gained ground against Cruz in the sixth?
You do know what trends are, right?
My line of work takes me to a number of Trump employees and I can vouch for what you say.
He employs nothing but the best employees and they would crawl over broken glass for him. I’m told he treats them very well.
The last refuge of a loser is to call everyone else stupid. I think people who support Trump know EXACTLY who he is, and, more important, exactly who Cruz is.
This means, to sport a different background and viewpoint. He had to do something productive all his life. The government tends to accumulate sad sacks that could not get a business out of a wet paper bag. Money grows on trees to them. I urge you to appreciate this, if nothing more. A Brobdingnagian debt needs a sane business look. And it will be credible to America.

Let’s not kid ourselves. Cruz is dishing it out also. IMO, if you can’t stand heat get out of the kitchen.
These guys are not competing for a boy scout merit badge. We need a brawler who can beat the Dems at their own game. So far the only one who fits that bill is Trump. Cruz simply has no path to 270 EV after campaigning for Obama’s TPA. Trump or bust.
Poltics ain’t bean bag...
Yep. We know who Cruz is and it isn’t very flattering. He’s a Conservative Imposter. A tool of Wall Street and the Trial Lawyers and a Fraud who says one thing and hides the truth. We sure do know who he is.
Under assumption that no greater Shepherd has stepped up.
If people could never leave the pits in which they once wallowed, they’d live forever in those pits.
He hasn't had one major agenda item where he got more than Mike Lee to sign on with him. Well, that's not a leader.
Mark Steyn said on Rush's show that Cruz's OWN hearings on "global warming"---he couldn't get ONE Republican senator to show up. Now, that's serious ineffectiveness and lack of leadership.
Again, look at his "rallies"---they have a tiny, tiny fraction of what Trump draws (50 people in one, about 100 in a church). Part of that is lack of leadership. Leaders draw people to them.
Cruz didn’t want to be Trump’s first target; he want’s to be the last.
Tastes great. Less filling.
“Do I give two shits about how many wives heâs had?”
Interesting, in your valiant defense of Christian values, that you use such language. And on the lords day.
And Donald has managed to wall him into an “anti” position.
Trump knows something positive beats something negative any day, so getting opponents to go negative is a way of conquest.
Trump could let Cruz out of the doghouse as his own pit bull. I think he’ll at least try.
This is the problem with Christianity today. It’s all hung up on externals. God told the Israelites what to do with crap; we’re not talking about some delicate airy fairy being here.
