Donald Trump is finding himself with strange bedfellows after Thursday's Republican debate, after he gave a rousing defense of "New York values" in response to attacks by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

Among those who seconded his comments: prominent Democrats Hillary Clinton, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Hillary Clinton, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Hilary, Deblasio Andrew Cuomo?
This thing is working out beautifully for Ted Cruz.

Trump won’t win.

Anybody who thinks NY will vote for Trump over real democrats in NY should probably wear mittens, googles, and a helmet while handling their ballot.

In the end, all the Trump supporters will see, that a President Trump, without the wall, and without the congress, will simply be just another New York liberal who will then appoint 3 or 4 Supreme Court Justices who share his New York Values.

Big Business Trump will become Big Government Trump. Trump will create a new agency for building and maintaining The Wall. If construction on the wall is ever started it will be done with mob controlled union thugs. Trump will enter office worth 10 billion and leave worth 100.

Here is another of Trump’s guiding principles: Trump is a serial adulterer, which does not automatically disqualify from President by itself, but it shows a decided lack of character. He can’t keep his promise to his wife. He has done it at least twice. Dump the aging wife for a new, younger copy of her - while still married to the older version.

Creepy. It’s almost like he is shopping for a new model from a mail order bride catalog. “I want the same one, just updated, with all the latest enhancements.”

“Someone tell my wife to clear out. I have a new replacement. Oh, and don’t pay her. I mean it. Don’t pay her...”

“That was Donald Trump winning NY in the general election.”

I agree. With New York sewed up in November, the election is already over.

BRILLIANT MOVE by Trump.

“This could only help Cruz everywhere but the ny/nj area”

I like Cruz, but this didn’t help me with him - just the opposite - and I’m waaaay in the Southwest.

You see, for so many years there have been attempts to divide people rather than to unite us on common principles. That seemed to be changing and have me a sense of hope. But when this regional bashing started, it was so devisive again and lumped all New Yorkers together.

We lived in upstate NY for a short time, but even though there were some not great people, we met some of the kindest, most amazing people ever. And our schools were excellent. AND We were there during 9/11. Everybody knew somebody involved. The stories were both horrible and amazing.

I’m sorry that TC decided to take such a devisive route and smear so many good people. I wish he’d taken a more targeted approach to make his point.

TC has led us into a verbal civil war, which has diminished him in my eyes.

Cruz had a “youth and inexperience” moment.

You got that right. Trump is big-time pro-Union, and not the nice kind of unions (if there is that kind).

The other night in Tampa, Trump’s mic was messing up. He was outraged. He publicly humiliated the company that did the audio setup. Never mind that sometimes things happen beyond the control of anyone - his immediate response? Vulgar language and his second most favorite statement (after “You’re fired!”) - “Don’t pay him. I mean it, don’t pay him. I’m not paying.”

What a jerk. If I were a business, I would not even bid for his projects because I will likely have to sue to get paid, and because I wouldn’t have a chance at winning a bid because the union and mob thugs will have already sowed up the deal under the table. Trump admits he is a big-time briber, so I assume that means he has no qualms at taking them too.

Yep... the company guy should have gone up and unplugged the mic and walked off with it. No pay, no play.

I would have cheered that. Trump gives it out, but expects everyone to bow to him and not give it back in turn. And if they do, he plays the whiner and gets all offended.

Hearing Trump say to Cruz, “That was offensive” was so funny I almost spewed my drink. What? the big old mean Trump, who brashly and rudely ridicules and mocks everyone is suddenly “offended” when someone says something less that adoring?

What a wuss. Most bullies really are.

Facts are NOT TDS Moron. If your too ignorant to actually research your candidate’s positions and realize what Trump did in the debate on the NY Values question was play the equivalent of the race card, then you have no business being anywhere near a voting booth. We have enough lofo voters to deal with already.

Attacking NYC was stupid

Trump is from NY for goodness sakes. Try going to New York and walking up to a genuine old-time New Yorker on the street and insulting him because he is from New York. Caution - this is movie is made by professional actors - and animals were injured in its production.

If you are a true conservative (odds are doubtful on FR these days), and if Trump becomes President, you will rue the day you supported him.

We can all agree that Trump is not truly conservative, but that doesn't matter at this point. Federal power trumps any token conservative position by other candidates. Reagan grew the government and he was a lot stronger than any current candidate.

There is no way to go back to limited government at this point and if you think Cruz will cut even one department you are dreaming. If you think anyone will defund PP you are dreaming. The only thing left is the Trump gamble because Trump only listens to Trump, certainly not the leftist media or policy wonks.

At least I know the difference between “your” and “you’re.”

The New York attitude is defending New York values. Such a big deal being made BECAUSE so many pundits, media and celebs are New Yorkers and of course they all agree and are agitated. Why, are they not proud of their values? They elected the current communist mayor who antagonizes police, the current governor who told pro-life people they are not welcome in NY, former mayor Bloomburg-Mr. Anti-Second Amendment Himself AND Hillary R. Clinton as Senator. There are good people everywhere but the evidence is that NY is a pocket that does not understand the rest of America.

Besides, as a southerner and a Texan, I say get over yourselves. There is much overt and subtle derision of my groups. Maybe the NY comment hit a nerve because of its accuracy and thus all the frittering around.

Trump and his establishment buddies will stop at nothing to block Senator Cruz. Doesn’t change anything for me. Anyone who the media supports, in this case Trump, I run away from. Cruz 2016.

Yeah, that’s good. That’s real good! I was so disappointed that the senator didn’t have another zinger for Trump there, but I couldn’t think of anything either on the spot like that. When it comes to 9/11, you have to be really careful. As Gavin McGuiness said, it’s like Trump playing the race card.

Trust me the people in IA & SC know exactly what Cruz means by “New York Values”, lol. It’s kind of an inside joke to us folks that don’t live there.
