Donald Trump says Ted Cruz should leave the presidential race

WASHINGTON— Donald Trump stepped up his attack on Sen Ted Cruz’s eligibility to run for president Wednesday calling for Cruz to drop out of the race.

Donald J Trump
@realDonaldTrump
"Sadly, there is no way that Ted Cruz can continue running in the Republican Primary unless he can erase doubt on eligibility. Dems will sue!"

Trump recently warned the GOP that if Cruz becomes the nominee ,the party would be risking the White House. Trump claims Democrats would hold up the election in court, litigating whether or not Cruz is considered a natural born citizen.

Trump’s views on Cruz’s eligibility have changed throughout the campaign.

The first time he was asked about Cruz’s Canadian birth in 2013, Trump, the loudest ‘birther’ questioning the legitimacy of President Barack Obama citizenship, wasn’t sure if Cruz was qualified. Trump was still not convinced last March, months before announcing his own bid for president. By September, Trump said he was confident Cruz had the legal standing to run.

What you are saying, in effect, is that on this issue Cruz is powerless to turn his boat and cover his flank.

Thus he is going to continue to take fire from whoever wants to fire on that flank.

Unless someone sues him and helps him on this by way of a suit, he can’t help himself...

That is not a good situation to be in IMO.

Trump supposedly being an anti-establishment candidate attacking another anti-establishment candidate in order to win against the establishment candidates.

Nice going squeaky wheel, loud mouthed yankee boy.

"Trump can't win against Cruz on merit, Trump's only play is to try to get him disqualified"

Trump will win every primary after Iowa and may win Iowa (unlikely).

Nay he is right on this.

There is valid question as to whether Cruz is eligible and it should go to court now.

"So if the Mouth is so sure Cruz is not qualified to run why doesn’t the fool file a suit himself?"

Because it's not necessary to file a suit to remove him from contention.

-- Maybe people should know a little bit more about Trump. Do you think caucus goers knows he was a leftist in good standing until about 3 years ago? --

Same answer I gave above, they probably don;t know that. I wish and hope they learn it. I'm just wondering if Cruz being born in Canada is an important fact for a voter to know, or if it is an irrelevant one, like how long was he when he was born.

I think Cruz will allow Trump to continue digging this hole. And when it is brought up at the debate (AS IT WILL) Cruz will have a crushing rebuttal. If he doesn’t, it will have an affect on his polls and support.

The 1999/2001/2008 switches were all due to his hatred of the Bush family.

The Alinsky tactics Trump is using are the same Alinsky tactics used by the Clintons for over 24 years on the national stage to divert attention from their scandals.

Have you noticed the more legal troubles Hillary has the more Trump attacks Cruz and keeps Hillary out of the news.

Regarding Trump switching parties over the years.
Yeah... good to know.. I’m all for disclosing information.

But, at this point, fighting the Uni-party there is no difference between which party you choose. When the GOP response to the worst president in years by attacking the front runner GOP nominee, everyone is equally bad.

Glad for the disclosure.. I am voting for Trump.

Now for the next steps:
Get rid of McConnell, Ryan, Cornyn, McCain, Graham, etc. Lets clean at least one party so we have a choice between them

>>Trump will win every primary after Iowa and may win Iowa (unlikely).<<

Trump will not win Texas. Being a proportional state, he will win some delegates, but Cruz is very popular here.

The deep South will be an issue for Trump.

"They are smart, cynical politics"

Correct. And if not employed by Trump, it would be employed by some other POTUS candidate.

Already Fiorina and Paul are singing that song. Soon Bush and Rubio.

There is a very strong stench in Iowa. It's the smell of dead meat.

Do a search on everyone who has hollered that Ted has to settle the birth issue, that they have brought up and the claims they can not document.

They are dead in the water regardless of what their polling numbers are.

There will be a thinning of the participant's at Iowa and we will be surprised at who they will end up being.

Cruz continues to reveal his detailed plans of action, something no other candidate is doing. (i have looked at the Trump site)

I am aware of that.

The point is that Levin’s opinion on Cruz’s eligibility, much like everyone else’s opinion on Cruz’s eligibility, doesn’t matter.

I think ted Cruz is eligible. Does my opinion matter? No.

A judge’s opinion will matter.

"What Cruz supporter will change their mind because of this?"

None.

But it does put a cap on Cruz' support.

This is just WRONG. Trump spend a month attacking Hillary and Bill about their abuse and rape of women.

So much so Juanita Broaddrick has come out endorsed Trump.
