Based on the current knowledge of Ted Cruz's citizenship, would Ted Cruz be considered eligible for the presidency at the time of our Founding Fathers (1788 - 1840).
Facts About Ted Cruz:
1) Mother was U.S. Citizen
2) Father was a foreign Citizen
3) Born in Foreign Country (Canada was a British Colony at the time)
4) Held Dual Citizenship
On July 25, 1787, John Jay wrote to George Washington, presiding officer of the Convention:
Permit me to hint, whether it would not be wise and seasonable to provide a strong check to the admission of Foreigners into the administration of our national Government, and to declare expressly that the Command in chief of the American army shall not be given to, nor devolve on, any but a natural born Citizen.
While the Committee on Detail originally proposed that the President must be merely a citizen as well as a resident for 21 years, the Committee of Eleven changed "citizen" to "natural born citizen" without recorded explanation after receiving Jay's letter. The Convention accepted the change without further recorded debate.

Well it looks like you can provoke your way into great blessing, if you take it in the manner you have apparently been taking it. Something needs looked at in this logic.

You are correct. The eligibility requirement has never changed. Until Obama the only President ever elected who was not eligible was Chester A. Arthur who’s father was from Ireland by way of Canada. He lied about it to get elected. And before leaving office Arthur destroyed a lot of his Presidential papers to try to cover up.
In 2008 both political parties wanted to run an ineligible candidate so they all got together and agreed to just ignore the problem. Nobody who mattered squawked about it and The Kenyan got elected.
The 14th amendment is not about natural born citizenship. “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States” includes that tricky little word “jurisdiction” The words “natural born citizen” do not appear in the 14th amendment.
Basically, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Bobby Jindal are not natural born citizens in the true sense of the definition. But that being said until the Supreme Court weighs in at some point and rules on a definition I have accepted that the two political parties have hijacked that definition for now and it makes no sense to argue about it any longer.
If Ted Cruz can win the GOP nomination he will be allowed to run in the general election and if he wins the election he will be sworn in as President. Same goes for Marco Rubio.

Sometimes might it be that one DOES need to rightly divide the word of truth? To grasp what circumstances are being described?
Sometimes we can just have a devil-fest but yet if everybody can somehow agree to exalt God again and thereby boot that devil OUT, then the question of “whom of the set is right” doesn’t come up any more; ALL will be right.
