Good. This is a common sense approach. There are good guys and there are bad guys. LEOs are the good guys. Harassing them is counter productive.
” LEOs are the good guys.”

Oh my,wait until the FR cop haters read that,
Should be fun.
.
so...
If I get pulled over and I have a dash cam recording, I have to turn it off, in your opinion? It is less than 20 feet from the officer.
I am for recording *everything* for both my, AND the officer’s protection.
Good cops *want* to be recorded.
How about the woman who accused the cop of raping her and he was found innocent because of a camera? Want to take away *his* protections?
Get it all on camera and let the judge sort it out.
It's here and you cannot stop it.
Uh First Amendment.
If they are good guys no harm from recording their actions.
There are no bad cops?
Consider me skeptical.
This would mean you could not film when you are stopped in traffic. Further, the cop can object and prevent all filming.
Seems to me there are already rules against interfering.
The answer should be an emphatic NO!!!
True.
Then we wouldn't have this awkward situation in South Carolina where the police officer got filmed backshooting the guy who was running away.
The police could have prosecuted the filmer for "harassment". Maybe make it a felony, with the potential to lard on a lot of other charges, to make the mark squirm.
Yeah, holding cops accountable is AWFUL.
Good. This is a common sense approach. There are good guys and there are bad guys. LEOs are the good guys. Harassing them is counter productive.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
So we citizens are the bad guys? Right here, pig, eat the loaf.
Your naivete is astounding.
SCOTUS has already ruled on this. And it wasn’t for the cops.
L
I don't think I have ever seen video where the person taking the video was using a camera to get into a LEO's way, or harass them or obstruct officers by taking a video. I have never seen that. In fact someone would not need to be taking a video to do that. But I have seen countless times where LEOs totally over reacted to being recorded when they were not being obstructed.
There are good guys and there are bad guys. LEOs are usually the good guys.
how would you feel about a law that says no privately held weapons within 20 feet of a cop?
