Storm Clouds Form: Bob Woodward Compares Hillary Scandal to Watergate (FBI revolt brewing)
National Review ^ | January 10, 2016 | John Fund

Hillary Clinton's e-mail scandal has been a difficult one for the public to understand and for journalists to explain. But Bob Woodward, the Washington Post reporter who helped uncover Watergate 40 years ago, clarified things a lot on Fox News Sunday today when he said that an e-mail in the most recently released batch shows Hillary trying to "subvert the rules" that she expected others to follow.

A few days earlier, Joe DiGenova, a well-respected former district attorney for the District of Columbia, told The Laura Ingraham Show that "there is vitriol of an intense amount developing" in the intelligence community and that FBI agents "are already in the process of gearing themselves to basically revolt if [the Justice Department] refuses to bring charges" against either Hillary Clinton or her former State Department staffers.

[Snip]

Only 23 percent of independents view her as "honest and trustworthy" in the latest Quinnipiac poll. Other Democrats, including Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren, would be remiss if they weren't preparing a Plan B in case this number dips even lower, making her a more vulnerable general-election candidate.

IT’s actually better for the GOP if the FBI waits a few more months before recommending an indictment.

If Hillary is indicted...that alone will bring the whole Democratic party to its knees...no way to recover from that by 2016. They will be toast...

To the best of my recollection, no one died as a result of the Watergate break-in. So, IMHO, Hillary’s scandal is much worse.

Revolt how? Comey is an Obama hire who wants to keep his job like anyone else. He will remind the agency to “remain professional, avoid leaks and respect the decision of the Attorney General and the Chief Executive.”

Hillary.. as always.. will walk through this unscathed.

True if prosecutions are dropped altogether. But they won't be. The so-called "Rule of Law" is always selectively enforced.

Politically, that may be best, but the law isn’t supposed to be political. If this bitch is guilty, or a very good suspicion exists, she should be arrested and indicted.

Hillary Clinton's e-mail scandal has been a difficult one for the public to understand ...

If it is difficult for the public to understand, it is difficult only because the mainstream media is protecting Hillary with their propaganda.

1. Hillary will not be indicted.

2. Even if she were.. never, EVER underestimate the voting power of the freaks, freebies and fools who would pull the lever even for ISIS leader al-Baghdadi so long as he had a (D) after his name.

We can hope but I can't see Hillary going to prison. Maybe she will move to that mansion in Venezuela that she has always wanted.

Does the sainted Bob Woodward expect us flyover people to believe the Obama Justus Dept. is going to prosecute Hillary? or maybe the Hillary Clinton Justus dept.? Or the Jeb Bush? or Rubio?

In my opinion, stories like this are just pabulum for us yokels.

“If there is no indictment, there will be a massive amount of information leaked regarding exactly what the FBI found.”

I think this is the way to go for now. In a year’s time, when Obama cannot pardon her for a huge chunk of Clinton Foundation funds, then they can bring it on.

It’s not the least bit difficult to understand for those of us who have worked in the Intelligence Community for more than 24 hours. Hillary violated numerous federal regulations and broke a multitude of laws - any one of which would already have me and my colleagues in prison and answering endless streams of very uncomfortable questions.

What’s repeatedly missing in the stories about her emails is the fact that Hillary was one of but a handful of federal officials entrusted with ORIGINAL CLASSIFICATION AUTHORITY. She not only knew that what she was doing was illegal, but recognized classified information whether it was marked as such or not.

News headlines today are all about Ziggy Stardust! Except for FOX, there is not one mention of this scandal on the networks.

And it’s just as likely that it’ll turn the other way too: someone throws her under the bus at the promise of immunity...

If the FBI comes out publicly with a recommendation to indict her, the political damage is done regardless of what the DOJ does. That said, I question if the FBI will have the integrity and courage to recommend indictment. If it doesn’t, then the Rule of Law is dead in this country. Corruption rules.

I agree with your assessment about the voting freaks in their party, but I do also believe that everyone has a breaking point and I think IF she were to be indicted just months away from the election, it would send their crap party into chaos that would not be recoverable by November 2016. It would be fun to watch!
