I think after the Iowa Caucuses, we’ll see Iowa’s choice rejected by the rest of the country for the third straight cycle.

Maybe The Donald won’t lose so very big in Iowa, as predicted, but the Iowa caucus has not been much of a reliable predictor of later electoral success in actual votes, not simply caucus settings, which are fluid up until almost the last moment before the caucus vote is taken.

Then again, there are decisions that go into the selections either at a caucus, or in the voting booth, that are the sum total of plenty of factors, some of which may not even get taken into account by the pundits and pollsters.

The real surprise will be when Bernie Sanders grabs off the lead from Herself, and sets into motion a whole series of rethinking and reconsiderations among the Democrats.

Well maybe it takes a little longer for the corn shuckers
to catch up with the rest. It will be interesting to see
if Trump has gotten his supporters enthused enough to go out
and caucus. Maybe he can tell them he’ll fly over a lot of the
Iowa territory in his jet and to let them know he with them as
they do their caucusing.

And how'd the first two work out for ya, GOP?

Who won Iowa in 2012... I should know but I can’t remember.

Surely Trump is aware that Iowa seems to have no lasting consequence in the nomination process.

That being so, why is he letting Cruz’s polling in Iowa panic him. Okay, you say he’s not panicking ... but for some reason he changed his behavior toward Cruz and is pushing hard and daily for people to beware of a candidate who may be tied up in court on legal issues.

Only the most ardent Trump supporters cling to the theory that this is a favor to Cruz. It is not. It’s designed to cost him votes and it may do so.

To me it illustrates something we already should have known. In spite of his affable behavior in public and the fact that he seems like a decent guy in his private life also, Trump cannot stand to lose. Maybe that’s good.

But don’t insult us by claiming he is pushing this issue to help Cruz.
