A Baltimore Sun columnist wrote in a Thursday op-ed that citizens who legally own firearms are more frightening than the criminals who use the weapons on the rough streets of her hometown.
Tricia Bishop, deputy editorial page editor for the Baltimore paper, explained how billboards advertisements for guns and everyday Americans carrying them around made her sick.
"I'm less afraid of the criminals wielding guns in Baltimore... than I am by those permitted gun owners," Bishop said.
She says this because she believes as a middle-class white woman, she's shielded from her city's criminal element but, in her opinion, she's not protected from her neighbors' legally-purchased weapons.
"I have the luxury of being white and middle class in a largely segregated city that reserves most of its shootings for poor, black neighborhoods overtaken by 'the game,'" she wrote. "But I don't know where the legal gun owners are or how to ensure that their children, no matter how well versed in respecting firearms, won't one day introduce that weapon to my daughter."

She needs to do what I did last week... I took my 15 year old gd to a gun safety class. She got to listen to 30 women talk about their feelings about guns both that they were afraid of the gun but also afraid not to have one. The teacher used the “shares” to teach the essential points although she also taught without the dialogue. Great class. This is the second 2 1/2 hour safety class of hers that I’ve attended and I learned a lot of new stuff second time around.
This kind of thinking is why women weren't allowed to vote.
A true liberal will embrace their communist doctrine, even unto death.
If we’ve learned anything by now its that leftists are simpatico with anyone who regular Americans consider an enemy.
They hate their traditional neighbors - political opponents - more than any one else.
Its by no means rational, but leftists aren’t known for thinking through to the consequences of their positions.
You may want to reconsider allowing your child to take baths or ride in your car or cross a street. All those things kill more lily-white, over-protected children than a legally owned firearm.
Personally, I’m more afraid of liberals than I am of gun-toting criminals; look how much more damage liberals have done to everyone’s lives.
She is more afraid of people with credit cards than hackers and more afraid of insured drivers than someone without a license, insurance and registration. She lives in bizarro world.
That “luxury of being white” comment irritates me also.
What she is saying is the poor people who were not born white are unlucky.
That’s about as racist as it gets.

So we can assume she has not robbed or raped yet. The ghouls that will eventually do to this city dweller won't care that she edits some puke city newspaper. They'll call her a white bitch and have whatever way they want with her. And those city cops who she think 'protects' her will be minutes away when those seconds REALLY counted. God forbid some gun wielding neighbor should help her.....
