Under assault from Donald Trump, Ted Cruz offered something of a thinly veiled contrast Friday....
Cruz, in the middle of an intense 28-county bus tour, has been arguing that he is out working the GOP field on the ground as they rely on "slick Hollywood TV ads."
Asked by reporters if he had much faith in the ground game of a Trump, Cruz mocked his opulence.
"I feel confident that I'm never going to have a plane with my name on it," he said at a church. "How do you run a grassroots campaign? It's very time intensive. It's labor intensive. You don't do it sitting back in the easy chair. You don't do it from a TV studio in Manhattan."
Cruz has consistently poked fun at Trump's wealth, telling a late night host that he would like Trump to write his campaign a large check and joking in a GOP debate that the New York builder should personally pay for a wall on the Mexico border.
However, the jokes at Trump's expense come after the billionaire businessman's has spent significant airtime ribbing Cruz over his Canadian birthplace and whether it jeopardizes his eligibility to be president. Constitutional scholars have said Cruz's citizenship will not be an issue.

While I agree, it still would have been labeled as wealth envy about 2 years ago.
It wasn't so long ago that it was said that what's good for business is good for the economy. Now business among conservatives is often looked at with disdain.
You read Trumpkin comments?????????????
Cruz will never have a “charitable” foundation that he hasn’t contributed to in 10 years. A fohndation that can be seen as a kickback scheme, since the only donors are businesses making deals with him.
Cruz just doesn’t know how to “do business.”
That’s why DC hates him.
Cruz isn’t going to hitch himself to some progressive. He knows it would be career suicide.
Besides, he’s in this to win. Conservatives have a golden opportunity, and I’m not going to blow it by getting behind some reality show host.

Ditto. Unless, of course, it’s Oprah. Just KIDDING, folks. Now if Trump makes Oprah his VP candidate?
I agree.
It's as if they're both holding back from laughing with each other as they pretend to fight.
Trump and Cruz are putting on quite an entertaining Kabuki dance.
Put his logo on the bombs too.
We can add in red white and blue pyrotechnics into our explosives and munitions, so they detonate in patriotic colors. Like fireworks!
Sad if you think that Trump being asked a question by a reporter and responding is stabbing in the back. Trump didn’t initiate the accord. You should look into what was actually said as well.

Well, YOU might be willing to buy that bridge in New York (or buy “Trump Bonds” as so many “little” investors did only to later see them evaporate into nothingness) but I’ll refrain. Donald Trump has left “plausible deniability” behind...and he’ll never have it again from me.
Cruz will just have to settle for a tour bus with his name on it instead.
Neither will Bernie Sanders. Ted, leave your anti-capitalist card at home. Big Dreams can get Big Rewards.
This gets you NOWHERE!
LOL.... Have been waiting for someone to post that.
;)
Cruz will just have to settle for a tour bus with his name on it instead.

Well, that’s EXACTLY what Ted has...as he goes about seeing many “small” groups in a typical day at many different locations. While Trump restricts his appearances to, essentially, one a day at a large, centralized location.
Cruz will just have to settle for a tour bus with his name on it instead.
He seems quite satisfied with speaking to the small groups of elderly wheeled in from the local assisted living places too!
Or Heidi could send more spam: “I’m worried - My husband has no plane with his name on it. Could you spare a hundred?”
Talk about a prophecy.
It has nothing to do with what I think. He’s acknowledged as intellectually brilliant even by the left. Alan Dershowitz says he was the cream of the 10,000 law students who passed through his classroom.
You were unaware of this?
Can't stand Oprah.
But Norman Reedus for VP? Hmmmmm....
No, it wouldn’t have been labeled as wealth envy. Cruz’s conservative pro-capitalist background isn’t in question, and he clearly was referring to the name on the plane, not the plane itself.
Take that into account with Trump’s egomania, and it’s easy to see what Ted meant.
The Trumpsters on this thread know what he meant, as well, but they want to run with a meme and screech like howler monkeys, so they’ll pretend it was something else, even if it makes no sense.
Just as they did the other day when they refused all sources that proved Cruz didn’t flip-flop on ethanol subsidies, including a retraction by the original source. They were still ignoring the facts as though they didn’t exist, hopping up and down, screeching, “Flip-flopper!” and throwing primate poop out of the trees.
It’s what howler monkeys do.
Can’t stand Oprah.
But Norman Reedus for VP? Hmmmmm....

It would be a landslide victory for his ticket. And if the electoral college electors tried to deny him his office (simply because he has British citizenship rather than American) millions and millions of American women with torches and pitchforks would be occupying DC until Norman was installed into office.
You mock Cruz: "I feel confident that I'm never going to have a plane with my name on it," --- Not with that loser attitude.
So, having zero desire for a big jet with your name plastered on the side indicates a "loser attitude," lewislynn?
For crying out loud, SNAP OUT OF IT.
