The Federal government has permanently forfeited its moral high ground. The key is to convince the public of this fact and not lose our resolve.
Let’s take a page from the Black community in general. They do a lot of stupid things and support some dubious causes, but you have to admit that they stick together and that gives them strength and protection.

Bundy ranch was a pure event as was hone pine mine. Oathkeepers showed up and since they had the moral high ground and the govt was acting illegally they had to back down.

Following on Twitter, it was amazing how quickly the meme of "white men or white terrorists" was quickly being repeated. Strange because this really isn't about race on any level. Though, every second tweet refers to the whiteness of these guys.
I’m contrarian. Why must we wait for all to be subjugated? Wait until resistance is no longer possible before resisting? Waco & Ruby Ridge SHOULD have been enough, yet “cooler” (more timid) voices prevailed. The theory that we must wait for the one big event that destroys all of our rights to begin asserting our rights is utter foolishness. By the time the sunny day patriot arises, there will be nothing left to defend.
I don’t have any idea what these men hope to accomplish by their actions, but I admire them for having taken any action at all in support of limiting government tyranny. (Even if this isn’t)
Saying that this action plays into Obama’s hands is exactly the same argument that not submitting to Islam is what causes Islamic terrorism.

I agree with Laz that this whole thing stinks of agents provocateur. Read up on the Okhrana sometime. They were the Tsar’s secret police, and churned up trouble in order, they claimed, to flush out subversives. As a byproduct, they perpetuated their existence and oh yeah, their paychecks. They are the ones who created the Protocols of Zion. They ended up being the main suppliers of illicit weapons, explosives, and training to subversives. That is the kind of thing brain-dead, dead soul, Statist operatives do. We are burdened with an abundance of such drones. This thing stinks of such an operation, and I am sure the feds have been slavering for the opportunity for payback on the not-too-smart Bundy family.
Unfortunately, the Bundys took the bait. Conservatives should heed carefully the coincidence in time with this farce, and this degenerate president’s assault on the 2d Amendment. We see thinly veiled administration trolls here all the time. Do not doubt that they put their best efforts into suborning the Bundys with foolish aspirations.

Maybe. Used to encounter them once in a while hunting, they seemed like decent guys keeping the hunters and campers honest. Now I see them as probably corrupt law dogs enforcing Agenda21.

It sounds strange to me, too. It appears, though, the judge who ruled the original sentence didn’t comply with federal law about the minimum 5 year sentence. Then, an appeals court judge threw that sentence out, and imposed the longer prison term. It’s still unclear to me.
