October 21, 2015: BOOM:Trump Reveals First Dept. He’ll Cut as President…Liberals Howl in Horror

Speaking with Fox News host Chris Wallace this weekend, 2016 GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump made a remarkable statement about what he planned for the Department of Education, if and when he becomes president.

"I may cut Department of Education," Trump said. "I believe Common Core is a very bad thing. I believe that we should be -- you know, educating our children from Iowa, from New Hampshire, from South Carolina, from California, from New York. I think that it should be local education."

Many Americans agree, especially as the Department of Education has grown into a massive bureaucracy more focused on indoctrinating students in the Islamic faith and "white privilege" than in actually teaching them things that matter, like, say, literature and math.

Plus, getting rid of the Department of Education would give parents much more power over what their children learn.

However, whether Trump could get actually rid of Common Core, which is his apparent goal, remains to be seen.

As The Daily Caller reporter Blake Neff explained, "While Common Core is promoted indirectly by the Department of Education, it is still adopted individually by state governments, and the federal government does not control it."

Still, it's a very worthwhile goal to consider since many parents are fed-up with Common Core's "one-size-fits-all" approach to education.

Frankly, education is much too important to be mass produced ... and thankfully, most Americans, including Donald Trump, get this.

"I may cut Department of Education," Trump said.

He may cut it? Doesn't he know?

And when/if he does eliminate it I assume the individual states will have to make up the loss of funding for their education budgets?

I’m still a Cruz supporter. However, policies like this will make me smile if Trump wins the primary.

Nov 10th. from National Review: Cruz's plan to cut 5 Agencies: LINK

First, to begin the process of reducing the scope and cost of government, I have identified the Five for Freedom: During my first year as president, I will fight to abolish the IRS, the Department of Education, the Department of Energy, the Department of Commerce, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. To do that, I will press Congress relentlessly. And I will appoint heads of each of those agencies whose central charge will be to lead the effort to wind them down and determine whether any of their programs need to be preserved elsewhere because they fall within the proper purview of the federal government. I do not anticipate the lists to be long.

The oligarchs are not going to be happy about this. Education ‘reform’ has always been funded by the large tax exempt foundations: Rockefeller, Carnegie, Mellon, etc.

Trump can not have enough security.

The DOE doesn’t print money, the funds don’t magically come from them.

Last weekend my wife and I were talking to one of her friends. She said her nephew had just lost his job as the manager of a cafeteria for a public intermediate school.

Reason?

The students rebelled against Moochelle/DOE’s nutrition requirements and stopped eating the cafeteria food and instead began bringing lunch from home. As a result, the school is now shutting down the cafeteria and will have trucked in from elsewhere the Moochelle Meals for the msall group of kids who want them.

More Obama “progress.”

Of course there's no federal control. But the feds will simply hold back money going to any states that don't behave.

No federal money comes without strings attached.
