Professor at Catholic university asks students on final exam: Is Trump the Anti-Christ?

A professor’s extra credit question on a recent final exam asked students whether Donald Trump … is the Anti-Christ.

Options on the multiple-choice extra credit question included: a) a fool; b) already in hell; c) a clown; d) all of the answer choices for this question are correct; e) an evil man; or f) the Anti-Christ.

The exam question was first reported by Hypeline, a project of Turning Point USA, which noted the query stemmed from Creighton University’s Dr. Fidel Fajardo-Acosta and his World Literature I: Antiquity to the Renaissance course.

Students reportedly earned five bonus points if they answered the question.

The Blaze reports that “World literature is part of Creighton’s ‘Magis Core Curriculum’ program,

Please note that, despite the sensationalist headline, Dr. Acosta is not a clergy member, and this was a world literature class. Furthermore, Creighton is a Jesuit University, not a diocesan one. Thus, this story has absolutely nothing to do with the Catholic Church. I posted it as an example of what goes on at today's universities, nothing more.

Seems to me that nowadays, the Catholic church has nothing to do with the Catholic church.

I think the Anti-Christ would have walked away from a scuffle with the NFL with more than three dollars.

Most Jesuits I have encountered seem like embittered ex-believers, crestfallen, angry, even livid that their faith has not produced what was prayed for, hence drawn into compulsive ridicule of the faith and the faithful from that point on. I would like to think there are exceptions.

The frightening thing is that Obama is not the Antichrist; the real thing will be far smarter and will have unlimited energy. That’s why I’m so scared when I see the massive damage Obama has inflicted and the widespread support he has attracted. If a lazy, drug-addled thug can do all that, imagine the apocalyptic damage that the Prince of Lies will create.

Playing the Anti-Christ card is about the last they have in their deck.

A CRUZ supporter saying GO TRUMP!

Perhaps you haven't met enough Jesuits. The ones you hear about in the news tend to be the liberally outspoken ones. The vast majority are not. I was lucky enough to attend Jesuit HS & college. Some of the best, smartest, and most conservative men I've ever met are Jesuits.

Unfortunately, while Jesuits do take a vow of obedience to the Pope on matters of Church doctrine, the Society was formed to be apart from the Church on other intellectual issues.

Just as Islamic radical attacks by Islamists on behalf of the Islamic State have absolutely nothing to do with Islam. Right.

Even if it was an actual Catholic School, I really don’t care what they use for bonus questions. Trump is going to have 50 percent immediately against him the day he is sworn in. We might as well get used to it. Every President starts off with 50 percent hating them. The President just has to live with it. Trumps a big boy and probably laughed the question off.

Given that he's living in America under Obama, I'd say that "(b)" is the correct answer.

Thank you for the opportunity to use the term "Non sequitur" correctly.

This is a pretty good one, because the fact is ISIS carries out attacks specifically in the name of Islam.

There is nothing to indicate that Dr. Acosta put this question on his test in the name of Christ or the Catholic Church.

For that matter, if Creighton is anything like the Jesuit college I attended, its Theology department offers courses in other religions -probably even including Islam. For example, after 16 years of Catholic religious education I fulfilled my theology requirement at my Jesuit college by studying Zen Buddhism.

Glad I could help.

This professor is unprofessional. It’s an unprofessional question, and even granting the notion of free thought in a classroom, it really is a bad example even of that.

It’s one-sided, but it’s also irrelevant to any course taught at that university, so ‘extra credit’ for involvement in irrelevancy is abdication of seriousness.

Actually, I'm surprised it took this long.

The remaining step, which I wholly expect at some point in the next two months, is a series of articles quoting how Nostradamus predicted all of this.

I'm neutral on Trump, btw.
