The quiet impact of Obama’s Christian faith
Washington Post ^ | 12/22/15 | Greg Jaffe

Obama did not grow up in a religious household and became a practicing Christian as an adult. He has written more extensively about his spiritual awakening than almost any other modern president, addressing it in two books before he was elected to the White House and in more than a dozen speeches since.

His faith had been central to his identity as a new kind of Democrat who would bring civility to the country's political debates by appealing to Republicans through the shared language of their Judeo-Christian values.

With just one year left in his second term, Obama now holds a different distinction: No modern president has had his faith more routinely questioned and disparaged. Recent polls show that 29 percent of Americans and nearly 45 percent of Republicans say he is a Muslim.

He has repeatedly said in recent months that one of his biggest regrets is that he will leave behind a country that has grown more polarized and distrustful during his two terms in the White House. "There's all this goodness and decency and common sense on the ground, and somehow it gets translated into rigid, dogmatic, often mean-spirited politics," Obama said in a recent interview.

To understand why he so deeply believed that he could close that gap and why he largely has been unable to do so, it is essential to understand his faith and how it shapes his politics. That faith also explains why he has not given up.

I’m sorry. I’ve been watching this man for 9 years.

His own fruits betray him.

Most Christians are not this arrogant.

This man is on the side of the abortionists.

His pride and ego and narcissism is off the charts.

He appears to me to be a CINO.

This can only be a poke in the eye to Christians and maintenance of the “Obama is a Christian” narrative for Black Christians who should never have voted for any wicked Dem, but did and do.

Jaffe’s found a supplier for some really potent acid. Or he’s brought new meaning to utterly stupid. You pick.

Bingo.

People confuse his affinity for Muslim culture as making him a Muslim.

It doesn’t.

He does not believe in any God.

Matthew 7: 15-20
15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

I’m pretty sure a Christian won’t wear a ring inscribed in Arabic that says there is no God but Allah

The author is totally delusional. Obama trots out some christian tripe every once in a while for the 47% dimwits that worship HIM.

No Christian believes killing the unborn is okay. You cannot follow Christ and justify elective abortion.

Obama’s Christianity is one that de-emphasizes the written word and long-term traditions of the church in favor of the shared beliefs of a self-identified elite. It is essentially a belief in a collective deity.

To believe in an apostolic church is to believe that God continues to work with and through his followers. So, I am not entirely opposed to the shared beliefs of the faithful. But, all three elements - the revealed word, the traditions of the church, and the shared beliefs of the faithful - have to be considered. I would also say that what we know by reason should as well.

Of these several elements, the more tenuous are the traditions of the church and the shared beliefs of the faithful. Just as emotions are good, must must be conformed to reason, so too with our traditions and beliefs. Indeed, religious freedom allows traditions and shared beliefs to be continually put to the test, and to evolve over time.

All lies.

Obama shows zero actions of being a Christian. I still remember how he used the govt shutdown to punish veterans while allowing illegal aliens to protest.

Sometimes, Obama has appeared to single out conservative evangelical Christians for special blame, saying in an interview with the New York Review of Books that “it seems as if folks who take religion the most seriously sometimes are also those who are suspicious of those not like them.”

Obama did not grow up in a religious household and became a practicing Christian as an adult.

Liars!

His father was muslim, his stepfather was a muslim, and Obama was educated in a Madressa. And his "conversion" was to a pathetic, racist version of Christianity by none other than Jeremiah Wright.

And he definitely grew up in a communist household, right? Let's talk about that...

I want to see Obama in a Christian Church Christmas eve praying to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on his knees.

...and I want it broadcast all over Al Jizzera.
