The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) is a radical gun control group with a long history of considering gun ownership to be near treasonous, and who routinely refers to gun owners as “insurrectionists.”

Twice this year they called upon their followers to “SWAT” gun owners.

SWATting is the practice of making a 911 call in order to draw police attention to someone you don’t suspect of committing a crime.

Unfortunately, the cops like the opportunity to check someone out. Even if the gun situation is legal, they may find something else to cite them for.

Police dispatch already treats calls about someone carrying a gun as a legitimate complaint, even if the caller doesn’t indicate any illegal activity like brandishing AND even if it’s an open carry state.

What can happen to the innocent party. He mistakes the police intrusion for a criminal intrusion, and exercises his right to self defense, and the police exercise their right to their self defense.

The people who actually do this “swatting” need to be put in jail for the rest of their lives, and their property sued out from under them.

I would hope SWATing would be punished as harshly as flying an unregistered toy drone.

take it one step further, police using fake swatting calls to bust people via no evidence. Just a magic anonymous call on someone they hate.

see NYC,

see DC politics of personal destruction.

The nature of the controversy is illustrated by just how far these people are willing to go - this action is (1) illegal, and (2) likely to get somebody killed. This is pure class warfare in a literal sense, and a death is regarded as a positive outcome so long as nobody inciting it gets caught. It isn’t about the guns, it’s about the gun owners, who are considered evil people deserving of death, and the candid activists will admit it. These are not non-violent people.

If the swatting results in death of the target, prosecute the swatter for first degreee murder. It is a premeditated act with the intent of directing deadly force at the victim. Death penalty for the swatter. Apply on an expedited schedule.

Find and publish the group’s membership list. Act accordingly.

SWATting is the practice of making a 911 call in order to draw police attention to someone you don't suspect of committing a crime.

Abusing the 911 system is a criminal offense in every jurisdiction I know of.

The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) is a 501(c)(4) organization that was founded in 1974. It is staffed and run exclusively by white liberal activists.

No, he didn’t. He called up and asked a question. The cops then decided to ovrblow all by themselves and make it a training exercise.

The whole thing that makes it SWATTING, as we are discusing it, is that the intent is to deliberately call up and get the person in trouble, knowing full well there is nothing wrong and no trouble. That means lying to police about the nature of it because there’s nothing going on. The point is to get a person who’s carrying in trouble and they hope maybe they get shot by the cops, for doing nothing wrong.

That is not what Cletus did. At least as far as what he wrote indicates. Asking a question is not lying to cops about a gun threat. If anything he was maybe naive to not consider an dangerously overblown response by them to his question.

...you mean, regardless of whether it was a hoax or not?

I guess so. I hadn't thought of that, but I guess it's probable... even likely.
