There are many programs available online that can spoof your PC to make it look like you are anywhere worldwide. I can make my computer look like its in France if I wanted to. Some downloading web sites are only for the EU so you can spoof it so that it makes the web site think you are in the UK when you are really in Texas

Yes my wife of 34 years has given me 8 children. When I was an atheist I had no intention of having any kids. I got saved in the Army while in Honduras and that changed everything. Praise the Lord!

I spent the day in Manhattan yesterday and hadn't heard what happened in LA or that NYC had gotten the same threat.I *was* struck,however,by the number of NYPD (and State Police) that I saw...particularly in the Subway and most especially at Grand Central.

Now I know why.

I KNEW that if New York and L.A. got one, we'd have gotten one as well and BINGO! Announced last night, locally. We're the 4th largest school district in the nation, but like New York, we're made of sterner stuff than the girly-men of California. Heck, we don't close schools for tropical storms! Bomb threats and the like are pretty common, too.

As I mentioned before if New York, L.A. and Houston were targeted, then it made perfect sense that here in Miami-Dade we'd be in the zone too. And so BINGO, it happened and this is how they handled the situation. We're made of sterner stuff down here. We rarely close schools even for a tropical storm. Most Hurricanes we're left dangling until they can be 100% sure it's going to hit and even then the teachers usually only get a half a day to prepare our own homes but we have to prep our classrooms before we can go home. I think the district handled it well. I teach younger kids and several of them came to me near hysterical with fear so we took some time out of class to discuss the situation and I put their minds at ease.

I explained the concept of Wolves, Sheep and SHEEPDOGS to them and we read Grossman's essay on the subject out loud in class. I told them that Florida was full of sheepdogs, dedicated to keeping them safe and they were always around, even if the kids might not see them.

Helping Students Cope with Threats of Violence-Tips for Educators

The highly publicized acts of terrorism in Paris, France and San Bernardino, California have created safety and security concerns around our country.

In recent days, messages threatening violence in some of our nation's schools have added to the level of anxiousness experienced by some parents and students.

Last evening, Miami-Dade County Public Schools received such a threat; the threat was investigated and determined not to be credible. All parents of M-DCPS students have been notified of this situation and encouraged to have their children attend school today. Although the threat was not credible and our schools are safe and secure, there may be some anxious students and parents that you may come in contact with over the next two days.

In an effort to alleviate their angst, the following recommendations are provided:

Model calm and control.

Reassure children that they are safe.

Remind them that caring adults are watching over them.

Be truthful with students and avoid unnecessary details.

Keep your explanations developmentally appropriate.

Maintain a normal routine.

Restrict exposure to media coverage of the threats.

Observe children's emotional reactions to the situation.

Assist students in processing their thoughts and emotions.

Provide special support and reassurance to students who may have strong reactions.

Refer students who may be having a difficult time to the school counselor for support.

Contact the parents of children who are having difficulty controlling their emotions.
