RUSH LIMBAUGH: TRUMP’S ATTACK ON CRUZ RAISES RED FLAGS – [AUDIO]
TheRightScoop ^ | 12/14/15 | TheRightscoop

Posted on 12/14/2015 11:11:04 AM PST by gwgn02

Rush Limbaugh said today on his radio show that Donald Trump’s attack on Ted Cruz over the weekend, calling him a ‘maniac’ given the way he’s dealt with McConnell and others in the Senate, is not an attack a genuine conservative would make and it has raised a red flag for him: While I would certainly vote for Trump if he were the nominee, I’ve never thought he was a genuine conservative. But I do think he’s tried in some ways to bridge his positions with conservatism and I think he generally leans in that direction.

At the end of the day though, if he becomes president, I expect a lot of compromise with Congress, especially on his more conservative positions — and I know that going into the voting booth. If you expect something different you might be in for a big surprise.

This is also why I support Ted Cruz. I do expect him to compromise with Congress as well, as he has said as much, but I don’t believe he will go so far as to compromise his principles.

“Politics aint beanbag. They’re going to have to take the gloves off sooner or later. Looks like Cruz came out testing his left jab first. And drew back a stump. He’s gone back to his corner now to think it over.”

Well here’s the thing.

Nothing Trump says will compare to what the Dems WILL.

And harrumphing on FR or talk radio isn’t going to make it go away.

People demand Trump get a “thicker sin”, then may I suggest the political right do the same, because after the primaries, the media isnt going to care what any of us thinks unless you are ready to get dirty, NOT CLASSY.

I’ll accept your opinion but I don’t like a fight that will lead to the RINO’s winning.

By the way, Ted Cruz’s fundraising operation never ceases in my mail box and I will support him $$$ as I have been in the past when circumstances allow, not because of emotional appeal.

Give me a break. AMERICAN heavyweight Trump will knock the crap out of GLOBAL Marxist Clinton from one side of America to the other. And the crowd will be with him all the way.

No cage matches please.....

Divide and conquer, works every time and I still see it here every election cycle.

IMO this battle is against the elitist, not among ourselves....Trump and Cruz are the leaders in the battle and too many here don't see it.

JMHO.

Heh, We are actually in agreement. I likely was just a bit sloppy in the prose. ;)

Rush didn’t have the full story, I was just listening to him and he still doesn’t completely understand.

Rush also said that he had no problem with Trump attacking Cruz. The problem is HOW Trump attacked Cruz, for not being enough like John McCain to reach across the aisle.

I'm sure Rush isn't thrilled with Cruz being attacked for being against ethanol mandates.

If Trump wants conservative support, he should make conservative attacks, he ESPECIALLY should not make attacks that make us think we are getting the "plays nice with Dems" McCain.

Jim, I don’t get it. I have asked over and over and over from trump supporters...tell me something, anything prior to when he announced he was running for President (as a Republican? still don’t get that) that shows he has a single sincerely held conservative belief. Here are the responses I’ve received:
1. watch The Apprentice, you’ll see (really?)
2. he’s created an enormously successful business, therefore he’s a capitalist, therefore he’s a conservative (ask Bill Gates about that)
3. He supports veterans (just like Dems do when they need their votes)
4. JimRob supports him and that’s good enough for me

I saw that you had posted a brief list, but even that made me say, “huh?” because you had things on your list like he raised successful children. You have enormous sway here, Jim. And while I, like you, support the things that Trump has SAID and the issues he’s highlighted, we have nothing to base any faith that he is or will govern as an actual conservative. And, in fact, we have volumes of evidence that he will govern as anything BUT a conservative. And as Rush has cited here today, his attack on Cruz was from a LIBERAL point of view. Is that really what we want and really all the more we hope to dare?

Rush calling Trump Donald McCain raised warning flags.

McCain supported our veterans?
McCain supported our MIA families?
McCain supports our Military? (seriously)
McCain supports staying out of places like Libya & Syria?
McCain supports denying financing and arms to terrorist groups?
McCain supports polices that are best for the U. S.? LOL
McCain supports closing the border and sending illegal alien back?

Rush, you’re entitled to get one seriously wrong.

LOL!!! Yes. Trump has been chosen by the same crowd that gave us McCain and Romney...

For cryin’ out loud.

We just might need some of those moderates in the general. Trump will deliver them.

Given how Trump usually works, Cruz should count his blessings over Trump not going straight to the crotch kick first.

Trump must have a soft spot for Ted.

Of all the non-conservative positions Trump has taken, this is the one that got Rush’s goat? Better late than never, I guess.

He nor any of the other candidates are Trumps co-candidates. They’re opponents. Only 1 winner here. Everyone knows this.

I think this will get ugly way beyond what it is today. There are people on the stage with heavy luggage. What’s been off-limits so far, will soon get very public in the near future.

And the content of Trumps counter punch shows he’s no a conservative. I think Trump’s usefulness is running out.

He didn’t criticize trump. He said he’d be a better president than trump or Dr. Carson. He specially cited temperament and judgment. trump went WAY BEYOND a simple comparison, into specially denigrating Sen. Cruz as a maniac for opposing the GOPe and Mitch McConell
