Glenn Beck on Trump: He is Saul Alinsky
http://thehill.com ^ | December 1, 2015 | Mark Hensch

Posted on 12/01/2015 3:30:00 PM PST by NKP_Vet

Radio host Glenn Beck said Tuesday that Donald Trump acts like the radical community organizer Saul Alinsky.

"He is Saul Alinsky," Beck insisted of the GOP presidential front-runner on his radio broadcast.

"[Trump] will isolate you and polarize you and he will take you out," Beck said. "He will destroy you. "He is spending money with Tea Party groups and churches and news websites to own them," the conservative pundit added.

Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" has inspired controversy over its principles on income inequality, politics and social justice.

Beck argued that the Republican establishment threatens Trump's lead in the polls at its own peril.

"[The GOP] is making themselves a horrible, horrible bed [if they] run campaigns against him," he said of Trump.

Beck said alienating Trump could prompt the businessman to run as a third party presidential candidate next year -- something that could benefit Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton.

"What are the odds that he is a spoiler?" Beck asked of Trump. "What are the odds that he got into this because he's friends with the Clintons and he'll get a massive payback?

"Can you imagine if Hillary Clinton gets in because he ran third party?" he continued. "Do you know the favor they're going to owe him?"

Beck additionally suggested that Trump's policy stances "make no sense."

"He doesn't believe the things that he's saying," he said of the New York business mogul, citing his immigration rhetoric.

Trump has repeatedly warned the Republican National Committee he'll consider a third party run if it does not treat him fairly.

Beck seems to be obsessed with Trump. I used to get a kick out his show until he started with this; all because Trump wounded his little ego.

And then he got bumped to afternoons (PST). I sorta feel bad for him - he seems to be on a descent.

“Why the mystery? Outspoken, cranky billionaire running for president. Now he’s running, now he’s not. Sound familiar.”

Ronald Reagan had to run twice before he got to be president. Trump has never committed like this before.

Ross Perot was a third party candidate.

The only two really strong canidiates are right now Trump and Cruz.

I have to give more credence to a dried dog turd as opposed to Beck's so called "opinions."

It's apparent.. he's never quite drinking.. if I'm wrong and he did, then he stopped drinking AFTER the brain damage was done.

I remember a time when I actually had respect for Glenn Beck.

Now I wonder why I did.

Since you actually met him and appeared on his show, I’d be fascinated to hear your opinion on how he came to be like this from how he once appeared to be.

At one time, he appeared to be dead on right on so many things, then it became obvious that there was something seriously wrong.

I’d really like to know what you think.

Suddenly the media discovers someone who might emulate Saul Alinsky? And the media suddenly cares what Glenn Beck says?

Wow.

Hey Beck, settle down, don’t over analyze it. Trump is a smart, quirky guy with a big ego.

Yeah. I just got a friend request on Facebook from MakeAmericaGreat. My brain is not working at the moment and I thought what a funny name! When I clicked on the name it went to Trump's. Like I said my brain is not working right now. : )

1. As far as I am concerned, Beck is now a RINO.
2. So what is so wrong about using Alinsky tactics against our enemies? Use the enemies rules against them. It is already proven that there can be no further civil discourse with the Left, we should have realized that at least a decade ago. Face it. We are in a cold civil war right now.

I have not listened to Beck in a long time - his radio show is awful with Heckle and Jeckle in the background, but today I had it on when driving home and I could not believe how negative they were about Trump. I also heard the young guy on the show say that Trump criticized Romney back when Romney was running for “being to harsh immigrants.” Naturally I was curious about this.

Does anyone know to what he refers? The only article I found that appears relevant about Trump talking about Romney and immigration back then is this one -

http://www.latinospost.com/articles/15736/20130402/immigration-reform-2013-donald-trump-criticizes-gop-claims-border-secure.htm

This DOES NOT match what they represented on the Beck radio show today. I had pretty much turned off Beck, and by the way - I am supporting Cruz, but certainly would consider Trump, but was this a lie or did I not hear it correctly?

This one does not seem to corroborate what Jeckle said on the radio today -

http://dailycaller.com/2015/07/09/2012-flashback-donald-trump-said-gop-was-too-mean-spirited-towards-illegal-immigrants/

This breitbart article references Trump’s prior statement and it also disagrees with Jeckle.

http://www.breitbart.com/video/2015/11/12/trump-romneys-self-deportation-policy-was-mean-spirited-doesnt-support-restricting-legal-immigration-further/

So anyone who could stand to listen to the show today - did I hear this wrong or did Jeckle flat out lie with Chuckles and Heckle piling on for good effect? I was pretty stunned at what I heard! I also heard them razzing Trump for “making fun of the guy with disabilities”. That surprised me to considering they used to (or maybe still do) call convenience store clerks and make fun of them for being stupid.

Really disappointed in Glenn and felt that way before today, but after listening to that I am done with him completely.
