If it does come to the point where a clear and present danger is pending...(head-chopper hordes coming to a theater near you)then I have no problem deploying the overwhelming aggressive use of force in defense of my homeland.
We are not there yet. Hopefully the peaceful electoral process will solve the problem. If not....when the lamp is lit in the Old North Church...I and many more will answer the call for aid.

A whole bunch of guys/gals with long guns deployed around the border regions would be a deterrent. Those who got through could be captured and held for deportation.
The only ones they may have to be shot would be the fun loving head choppers from the religion of pieces.
However a large blow up Miss Piggy strewn across the border might prevent any shots from being fired.
Now if you were to address my plan to arm the innocent animals with weaponized drone technology...I could see the concern you may have.

Good for you, and that you decided not to go hunting anymore.
I cried the first time I shot my first animal - a squirrel. It has been a long time since I’ve hunted, but every time I killed something it was both a sense of satisfaction and respect and a bit of sadness. Most shots were clean. A bad shot with an injured animal happened a few times by myself or friends and is tough - usually birds.
