“We don’t know ... what those motives were, but whatever they were, it’s unacceptable, and it’s horrific and wrong,” the Republican presidential hopeful told reporters here before a town hall.
Cruz is among the first — if not the first — GOP candidate to denounce the shooting, which happened Friday in Colorado Springs and left a police officer and two civilians dead. A suspect, Robert Dear, has been taken into custody.
"I have spent much of my adult life working in law enforcement, working against murderers and those who commit violent crime, and that one officer lost his life is particularly tragic," Cruz said.
Cruz appeared to be the first GOP candidate to directly address the shooting Saturday morning, when he tweeted that he was "Praying for the loved ones of those killed, those injured & first responders who bravely got the situation under control in Colorado Springs."
Cruz has been perhaps the harshest critic of Planned Parenthood in the GOP field, especially after the release of undercover videos showing officials with the group discussing business practices. Cruz has referred to the organization as an "ongoing criminal enterprise," and he regularly promises to initiate a federal investigation into the group as one of his first acts in office if elected president.

One witness describes police vehicles with lights flashing around the Chase Bank. It is there they saw a officer get shot. You can get all of the videos at the CNN web site covering the Planned Parenthood shootings:

You are correct to say the gunman was engaged shooting at cops. Perhaps some of the crossfire may have hit the people inside Planned Parenthood.

If one of the PP employees was killed, the act of killing was murder, but the death, in and of itself, is not undeserved, tragic, or sad.

I’d say it’s because three people were murdered. A “no comment” from Cruz would be twisted by the “media” in every possible direction against him.
Why? his point is that we don't go out and kill people because we hate what they do. The message stands regardless of the particulars in this deal.
Since many here aren't getting the message about how important (and Conservatively Principled) it is to donate to FR, I have a pretty standard addendum to help remind folks about supporting that which one purports to believe in...

I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader

Two black policemen in Louisiana shot and killed a six year old boy belted down in a car a few weeks ago. Did Cruz feel the need to come out four-square against that? Isn’t the understood default position on evil condemnation. Another poster said he was asked about it. He should have attacked the reporter for being stupid, like Trump would have.
