CIA: We Should Not Bomb Certain ISIS Targets Because it May Harm Environment
Townhall.com ^ | November 28, 2015 | Justin Holcomb

Former CIA director Michael Morell said last week that the White House has hampered the intelligence community's ability to attack oil fields and oil trucks controlled by ISIS. Morell said that, "we didn't go after oil wells, actually hitting oil wells that ISIS controls, because we didn't want to do environmental damage, and we didn't want to destroy that infrastructure." He went on to say that there was a pretentious feeling in the war room that bombing ISIS oil targets would indeed cause environmental damage.

On November 18th, Colonel Steve Warren said that striking oil trucks owned by ISIS may cause harm to the drivers who may be innocent.

So, this is a decision that we had to make. We have not struck these trucks before. We assessed that these trucks, while although they are being used for operations that support ISIL, the truck drivers, themselves, probably not members of ISIL; they're probably just civilians. So we had to figure out a way around that.

An entire script of Colonel Steve Warren's press briefing can be viewed here.

Well, there it is.

This is the Official Moment that America deserves to die.

This country must fold.

I got a hot flash for ya, Mr. Morell...we got people who specialize in oilfield repair and environmental remediation. You can let the missiles fly, pal...cuz, as far as "environmental damage" is concerned, we got this, Ace.

Your "problem" is no problem, little pal. Anything in the oilpatch you can blow up...we got guys in Texas who can fix it. Anything.

If you want to stop a pipeline, you only have to cut it in a couple of places. At 200+/-bbls/load, 300 to 350 truckloads are sufficient to get 70000 BOPD out to market, and at $20/bbl, that is $500,000,000/year.

Shoot the trucks, kill the drivers, too.

And can’t they get Marines to the spot to guard it, and then do a local clean up. This sounds so wimped out.

The fire will clean up most of the mess, and will keep people out, too. Look at what Saddam’s boys did leaving Kuwait, and this will seem like a very tidy operation.

Trouble is, then Barack Obama would look like a big hypocrite over carbon dioxide. It’s not the smoke but the CO2 that is our fashionable villain du jour.

Even his spin doctors should see that they would be preventing all the CO2 from being emitted should that oil reach markets in the world. Why, they'd be saving the environment.

For decades now, I have put legal locations of wells in geological reports. Unlike my competitors, I would not put in survey plats, road maps, and topographic map information because I have no desire to help anyone ever reach that wellsite who is not supposed to be there.

IMHO, all that information, which is a matter of public record if in the report, and thus can be downloaded, would only help someone of a terroristic bent, whatever their motivation. The oil companies I have worked for have that information and can release it to contractors working there or others who need it as they see fit.

Understood... the trouble makers would be most likely to care. As it is, Google Earth can show this kind of stuff and Google proudly does it. Trouble is, the world isn’t all kumbaya.

It’s hard to know what the fools will care about today or tomorrow. It’s like they have random gaps in their thought life.

It's hard to know what the fools will care about today or tomorrow. It's like they have random gaps in their thought life.

Frankly, it is because of those random gaps in their thought life, I don't care what they 'care about'. "Caring" for them is a vain attempt to be relevant; for some it's a feelgood, for others, a way to get publicity being seen 'doing the right thing du jour, and for others yet, it remains a way to manipulate an ever more stupid populace.

Because they can't comprehend cause-effect relationships, they are irrelevant at best, an impediment at their most ferocious.

It ever will remain to people who have the vision to think ahead and see where today's actions or lack thereof will lead.

The destination for Europe is dismal, short of blood in the streets, and that will get worse, not better, if Europe and Europeans are to survive as cultural units. There will be blood in the streets either way, that of conflict, or the slaughter after conquest. It is unavoidable at this point.

None of the ancestors of those in the ruling classes fought the Muslims in the Crusades--that was done by Catholics, not Anglicans or Lutherans. The spiritual push just isn't there, only a future of dhimmitude unless they prove me wrong.

Those whose ancestors are Orthodox have heard. Those Roman Catholics have heard. Let every ear hear what awaits if they do not fight to retain their homeland.

Conquest, slaughter, rule by murderous half-wits, the taking of their women and rape of them and their children.

Don't think the Muslims aren't in this for survival, too. They want to refresh a gene pool marred by centuries of inbreeding, and they want to use European women for breeding stock.

That's what is at stake.

The U.S. has tactical nukes that could vaporize any crude oil in the area high up into the atmosphere. The oil will be broken down into its basic atoms that are harmless to the environment. However, the radiation is a different matter. That radiation will keep the area off limits to ISIS use for a long time.

....This is our first strike against tanker trucks, and to minimize risks to civilians, we conducted a leaflet drop prior to the strike. We did a show of force, by -- we had aircraft essentially buzz the trucks at low altitude. So, I do have copy of the leaflet, and I have got some videos, so why don't you pull the leaflet up. Let me take a look at it so I can talk about it. As you can see, it's a fairly simple leaflet, it says, "Get out of your trucks now, and run away from them." A very simple message. And then, also, "Warning: airstrikes are coming. Oil trucks will be destroyed. Get away from your oil trucks immediately. Do not risk your life." And so, these are the leaflets that we dropped -- about 45 minutes before the airstrikes actually began. Again, we combine these leaflet drops with very low altitude passes of some of our attack aviation, which sends a very powerful message.

Only a fag president would pull this shit.Unfriggin believable

Obama and his CIA were never serious about terrorism.

Maybe they were just serious about protecting ISIS which is what all this environmental pap does.Everything they do has numerous tentacles.
