Think you only need a passport to board an international flight? In 2016, some fliers better have one to fly domestic, which means they had better be paying their taxes. It now looks as though your passport could be cancelled if you owe the IRS. The Real ID Act created a national standard for state-issued IDs. It hits air travel in 2016. Some states initially refused to comply, fearing that the feds would make a national database of citizens. Others cited high administrative costs and a 50% increase in fees for drivers. Most states are OK, but millions in Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire and New York may have to start using a passport to fly domestically.
Those states skipped the stricter standards for state-issued IDs. As a result, the TSA could insist on passports rather than driver’s licenses to board flights. The TSA will accept $55 passport cards and $135 passport books as valid identification. But some advice says that people in Minnesota should get passports by January 2016 to fly domestically. New York has been granted a waiver, so any driver’s license should still work. Louisiana has a waiver until Oct. 10, 2016, meaning that existing driver’s licenses work there too. Ditto for New Hampshire which has a waiver until June 1, 2016.

Not going in any particular order, the first problem is this. Regardless what Constitution-ignoring FDRs thug justices wanted everybody to believe about Congresss Commerce Clause powers (1.8.3), a previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified that the states have never delegated to Congress, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate INTRAstate commerce.
”State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphases added].” - Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
And by possibly preventing citizens from using their airline tickets, corrupt Congress would be interfering with intrastate commerce imo.
Next, noting that I am not an expert on such issues, airline tickets are evidently based on contracts referred to as a contract of carriage.
Contract of carriage
The problem concerning federal government involvement in contracts is this. Regardless what lawless Obamas activist justices want everybody think about the constitutionally of the Obamacare insurance mandate for example, a previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified that things like insurance policies are not commerce but contracts, and that Congresss power to regulate interstate commerce does not extend to regulating contracts, regardless if the parties negotiating such a contract are domiciled in different states.
"4. The issuing of a policy of insurance is not a transaction of commerce within the meaning of the latter of the two clauses, even though the parties be domiciled in different States, but is a simple contract of indemnity against loss [emphases added].” - Paul v. Virginia, 1869.
Finally, note that the Founding States had made the first numbered clauses in the Constitution, Sections 1-3 of Article I, evidently a good place to hide them from the corrupt federal government, to clarify that all federal legislative powers are vested in the elected members of Congress, not in the executive or judicial branches, or in non-elected federal bureaucrats like those running the constitutionally undefined IRS and TSA. So Congress has a constitutional ”monopoly” on federal legislative powers whether it wants it or not imo.
But by delegating federal legislative / regulatory powers to non-elected bureaucrats, Congress is wrongly protecting such power from the wrath of the voters in blatant defiance of the Sections 1-3 referenced above imo.
Finally, although patriots need to elect a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress to support the new conservative president, I do not necessarily see the feds trying to violate the Constitution as much as this action would in an election year.

One of the best kept secrets re TSA was to have color copies of a pre 9/11 passport and your current one.
My wife and I carried ours in the clear protective holders like a little book.
Even with last minute tickets due health problems with parents, TSA would put us through security with minimal bs.
Most of the “security” measures we see are pure theatrics.
Doesn’t matter to me, I don’t fly and won’t until there is no more Gestapo, I mean, TSA fondling the passengers.
The frustration is understandable. For the time that we spend in electoral politics and voting for these fools, it’s logical to wonder why we bother with it.
A suggestion? Try doing something productive that DOESN’T involve voting. Anything. Read a kid a book. Volunteer to pick up trash on a highway. Picket libs. Virtually anything that you do will have more lasting positive impact than that ballot you would cast.

No chance at all that the IRS could “accidentally” put the names of Tea Party members and administration critics on the NO-FLY list.
None at all.
Soon we will have the specter of released muslim terrorists freely walking onto aircraft without a TSA search (because it would be discriminatory and offensive) while patriotic Americans are not allowed to fly at all.

A few years ago I had a tax issue that was an IRS snafu. Almost 1/4 million was involved and claimed as back taxes I owed. Took over one year to clear up.
I owed zero.
Much of the tax stuff is done by computer and there is no recourse one needs to let the system run its course. I would have been a prisoner of the state if this new bureaucratic overreach was in effect.
I have mine ready. Haven’t quite yet decided on which escape place has the better spinners.

In the good ol’ U.S.S.R. one needed ‘papers’ to travel anywhere outside their area (county-size areas). They did not issue ‘papers’ to a large portion of the populace, so they were forced to scrape out a living. I read the Obamanation Care Act. It reminded me of the U.S.S.R. Deep in the regulations are limits on just how far away from your home one can travel for medical care. Creepozoids all.
