Down 12 Points, Trump Has Biggest Poll-to-Poll Decline in Months

Is Trump-mentum finally slowing down? While this is only one poll and the GOP establishment is still in panic mode over Trump's continued lead, a Reuters/Ipsos survey released Friday shows the GOP frontrunner lost 12 points in less than a week, "his largest single poll-to-poll drop since he took the primary lead in July," The Hill reports.

The rolling poll, which was conducted from Nov. 23 to Nov. 27, still has the real estate mogul at the top, finding favor among 31 percent of Republicans. However, support for Trump is down from a peak of 43 percent, which was registered on Nov. 22.

Reuters points to some of his recent controversial remarks, which may be to blame for the drop.

The dip follows criticism of Trump for comments he made in the aftermath of the Nov. 13 Paris attacks that killed 130 people and wounded hundreds more.

Following the attacks, Trump told an NBC News reporter that he would support requiring all Muslims within the United States to be registered to a special database, which his critics have likened to the mandatory registration of Jews in Nazi Germany.

Trump has also been criticized for flailing his arms and distorting his speech as he mocked a New York Times reporter, Serge Kovaleski, who is disabled.

Trump mocked the reporter as he defended his unsubstantiated assertion that during the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, he watched on television as "thousands and thousands" of people in New Jersey cheered while the World Trade Center fell.

But it wasn't only Trump who slipped in the poll. Ben Carson also dropped with only 15 percent of Republicans saying they'd support him.

At more than 8 percent, Sens. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz tied for third place, followed by Gov. Jeb Bush, who came in at 7 percent.

Why do you care? What does it have to do with these truths about Trump?

You are trying to flip the conversation. Here's the deal: these are truths about Trump that I am only pointing out, and they need to be faced instead of deflected away on "Oh, yeah??? Well who's your candidate, then?"

What I'm telling you, is that Trump ain't a candidate of interest for me, and shouldn't be for you, either. Look at him! He's a cocky patriotic celebrity businessman who thinks he can "run the country."

I am very happy with Trump and will continue to support him. Your opinion is flimsy at best and your telling me whom not to support is arrogant.

Now you will not tell us whom you support. If you know better than most why Trump should not be supported, you should also enlighten us with your stellar candidate.

You won’t do that will you? You cannot defend your candidate of choice.

You are probably shilling for Bush! Gutless wonder!

I don’t believe this poll, but I do believe that the perceived (again perceived) mocking of the reporter will hurt Trump some in subsequent polls.

He did not mock him because he was disabled. As much work as Trump has done with disabled vets should make this obvious. This is ridiculous. This is a tempest in a tea pot. Trump will get past this on his way to the nomination.

Not disagreeing with your statement, but I hope you noticed my mention of the word "perceived" (twice). There is a world of difference of a disabled veteran (hero) and a disabled left wing slime reporter (vermin). The Donald and his handlers really need to get his temper in check or the implosion is going to happen quicker than later.

Sorry to say sometimes perception is more powerful than reality. The MSM has seized the narrative, and Trump now must ride it out.

I totally disagree but thanks for the clarification.

Trump does not have to ride out anything. This is a tempest in a tea pot and will blow over in the next week or two.

Trump is the Teflon candidate. It’s just the way it is. If anything I am watching the media hacks sting themselves in the head repeatedly as they try to hurt Trump with their fly swatters.
