“Those who are no longer Republicans as I am, will find their vote off set by those who stayed.”

I think those that left, like you and I did, are conservatives. Those that stayed are party-loyalists, happy with the status quo. Therefore they are more likely to vote for the establishment candidates.

Yes, you are right. Thanks for the correction. I knew that VA was open, but post #3 led me to think that RPV was trying to close their primary.

So the goal is to piss off independent and democrat conservatives and make them stay home. I wonder if it will work. I have my doubts as it seems clear those that are disgusted with the GOPe are generally more aware and alert.

That says to me something about the reproducibility of the study: for surveys of this type, the relative size of the error bars scale as 1/SQRT(N). Which means the error of the 346 respondents is 5.37%, that of 358 respondents is 5.28%, that of 362 respondents is 5.25%, but that of 1299 respondents is 2.77%.

The difference in Trump's results between the largest and smallest samples, is basically RIGHT AT the margin of error.

Either they are trying to find a sample to minimize Trump's numbers, and having to go to sample sizes which invalidate the study to do it, OR, Trump lost 9% in 8 days following the Paris attacks and the consequent focus on border security and immigration...

I call bullshit.

Nice try, though.

Supporters of Ted Cruz should thank their lucky stars for Donald Trump. It’s hard to imagine the horrific, deep pockets vitriol and hate that would have already been directed at Cruz were there not Trump working defense.

Cruz supporters should also note that things are typically very polite and friendly between the two men, which suggests that at the very least, if Trump is elected, Cruz will be his VP. But if not VP, my next choice, which could make a Trump presidency, would be to appoint Cruz to the Supreme Court, replacing a liberal.

Doing so would create a steadfastly conservative court for at least a decade or two. It would strongly increase the power of the states against the federal government, as they could sue, and the SCOTUS would likely find in their behalf, taking out enormous chunks of federal power.

Trump’s presidency would be a whole lot easier, with him doing far more of what he wanted to do rather than had to do.

And if, through the machinations of the GOP-e and Democrats, they do manage to knock Trump out of the race, they will have spent so much money and time that they will have little left to betray Cruz, who is building a formidable base, slowly and methodically, with far less harassment.

What kind of idiots try to purposely destroy their own party?
********************************

The kind that are owned by The Cheap Labor Express

It’s more important to them to prevent us from electing a President that would enforce the laws and borders than to win.

Well, the hive of scum and villainy is trying. This is the same organization that became famous for the sanitized Presidential Primary in 2012. Vote for anyone you wanted, so long as it was willard or Ron Paul. They went on to undercut Cuccinelli the next year.

The VA gop motto is “do evil.” The past has shown that there is pretty much no dirty trick that they won’t stoop to, no treachery that they’ll refrain from. So, we’ll see how successful they are this time. If the past is any guide, they’ll do pretty well.

In my own case, I refuse to vote in sham elections so I’ll be watching from the sidelines.

It works this way because of Motor Voter Legislation. When you are an illegal and you have a Florida Drivers License you can register to vote for any party and pay a fee at the DMV office. The DMV is a state office not a county office. Illegals don’t go to the Supervisor of Elections Office to register. There you would have to prove citizenship. At the DMV you don’t. Only need to have a Florida Drivers License. Which you can get with a phony birth certificate or Matricular Consular card from a Mexican embassy and there are hundreds in the U.S. And yes there is a fee to change parties. That’s not considered a poll tax. My eyes and ears don’t lie. And on election day all you need to do in Florida is flash your drivers license to vote. Registered voter cards from the Supervisor of Elections are no longer accepted or needed. Welcome to the turd world.

New York is not Florida. Florida has Motor Voter laws. Paying a fee to change party affiliation is not considered a poll tax. You can still vote without changing party affiliation. What has happened is if you come to Florida to live you now register to vote at the DMV office not at the Supervisor of Elections office. Because the drivers license is the ONLY form of identification needed to vote on election day in Florida. So there are all kinds of people who are NOT citizens able to vote only because they have a valid Florida Drivers License. And their address shows up on the rolls because they are registered with DMV. That was the intent of the legislation in the first place.

Did they sign "Loyalty Oaths" for Cruz & Trump?

Some things are like a two way street.

What you say is true. In Florida you can change your party affiliation 30 days prior to the election. However, I don’t believe that is the definition of a closed primary. What Party one is registered 30 days before the election is the ballot they will receive. Your switch scenario plays both ways and I have used it to my candidates’ advantage in the past.

I’m quite sure everyone signed that oath.

The GOPe is opening the door for Trump to re-negotiate the pledge.

Here on FR many call it ‘Trump whining’, when in real life it’s Trump warning the GOPe they are going to get their asses handed to them if they try to treat him unfairly.

As a VA voter I can attest that the State is NOT a closed primary State. You can, and I have, vote in either party’s primary. The Oath/pledge they want you to sign is not new the Demoncraps do that also (I had to sign it in their primary in order to get a ballot). Just remember it carries no obligation or force. It’s a scare tactic. Both parties use it and us conservatives need to fill the voting booths on primary day, sign the stupid paper and vote for Cruz (Trump if you must...)
